NOTE: Us/I, from here on known as "we", are in no way affiliated with Capcom nor do we have any rights to the "Devil May Cry" franchise in any way shape or form. We are a non-profit group who are simply doing this for enjoyment and our love for Devil May Cry and giving our own take on certain events for others to enjoy. We will in no way, shape, or form make any money off of this and all expenses are coming out of our own pocket.

a.k.a. This is a non-profit fan project and shall remain this way.

END NOTE

With that said and out of the way, felt I had to say it to clarify as well as cover my own butt, time to move on to the thick of things!

I, like I imagine everyone here is (and why I felt it was the perfect place to unveil this) am quite a large DMC fan. So much so, that like others here have created dream stories, characters, etc. Well, to make a long story short, me and a friend have come up with this fan project.

So what is this fan project, "Devil May Cry: Zero"? Well, basically, as the name somewhat implies, is our own take on Sparda's origins. It will cover from his late childhood all the way up to his rebellion. So, what makes it so special, exactly? Well, we're making this a series of animated CGI film!

Now as one could imagine, this is incredibly ambitious, however not impossible by any means. I am an animator, 3d modeler, texture artist, and rigging specialist by trade. And spoken of friend from before is also a writer by trade. However, a team of two people isn't enough for such an ambitious project. That is why I come to you - DevilMayCry.org. I will of course advertise as much as I can elsewhere. However, far as I know this is one of the biggest DMC fan sites on the net. So I of course felt like starting here was only proper.

We're going to need help - plain and simple. Note you will not be getting any payment aside from the joy of working on a project such as this and knowing that you helped. As I said in the note this is non-profit. We're getting no money and anything that requires money is coming out of our own pockets if need be. I stress this because I don't want anyone joining in thinking they'll be getting any money out of this or anything else aside from a sense of accomplishment and joy.

What do we need, exactly?

Lots of things!

Concept artists, sound managers, voice actors, possibly people to help with the script writing process (Note: There is some facts needed to know about this position before going in, if you are interested in all the details, PM me! But just let it be known - the story is already in pre pre-production we already know where the story is going to go (Yes I said pre pre-production! We're working on another project currently while planning out everything for this one)), maybe also even some other people to help with rigging, textures, modeling, animations, etc. The more people on certain tasks the faster they'll get done of course.

And if you want to do something but not sure what you want or can do - don't worry we can find something and if you want to do something but not sure on how to do it - I can help train you to do that task! We're extremely dedicated people to this project.

And yes we have a site! As well as a blog, and a forum. They're incredibly bare right now, and I apologize for that as it was just made a few days ago. However once me and my friend's current project is done, we'll be blazing through stuff. That can be sure! Current project is unrelated and should be done within a month or so. Long time, and again I apologize. However planning is something you can never do enough of. Not to mention we need people who will be dedicated as well - we can't just take someone who will leave after a few days or something.

So with all of this said, if you are interested, wish to help, wish to do something, etc. Then please contact me at sparda@dmczero.co.cc, or PM me here! Or better yet, go to the site!

Link: http://dmczero.co.cc

And you can talk with us there! Introduce yourselves! The more people that are on the site the faster it will grow and more then likely the faster the project will get under way!

EDIT: Whew. Things are moving along pretty quickly. Got a better domain name now! Woohoo!

I thank you for the luck. And actually fan films, while some do have some copyright issues with them, are generally accepted even by big companies. It's like the fan-made megaman film. We also have a disclaimer as was put above to ensure no confusion.

One could think of this as free promotion.

And as for the title - it's tentative. I thank you for sharing that though. As the name can be changed quite easily. Though for now until a better title/placeholder presents itself, it'll be what's used.

If you, or anyone else for that matter too of course, wish to contact me you can now do so by the e-mail sparda@dmczero.co.cc

Yes, I am speaking of that. The same person is also making a Sonic The Hedgehog movie now as well. Exciting stuff in the independent film making industry indeed.

Thank you for the support! and this forum'll be the second place I put any information regarding things. The main site, which if it slows down you can use the dmczero.ucoz.org link and it will still work and it should be faster then, will be of course the first place anything is put! Anyone who wishes to help is still welcome, of course!

So I hate to double post, and possibly break a rule, however I felt this warranted it as it's own bit of progress.

So I made a basic skull to work off of for the characters. And it can be easily modified as well to be various creature's skulls as well!

So here are three pictures of it!

(apologizes if they're far too big, if they are let me know and I'll go ahead and shrink them down.)

Let me know if you spot anything odd about it, such as anatomical or proportion flaws/errors! Any and all criticism is welcome!

Thank you for the compliment! I'm trying to do my best to get ready for when production starts up so that then we can produce content as fast as possible so that we can consistently have something to show!

I looked again and it looks like the jaw is a little bit tilted downward. I'm not sure if that's anatomically correct or not, but it's most apparent in the perspective and side views.

Thank you for pointing it out - and it's anatomically correct. One's chin is very much so a lot of muscle, and not so much bone. Although on the other hand it is also very highly dependent on race/ethnicity. So it's possible that the skull I based that off of is of some ethnicity not commonly used as in skeleton representations where the jaw is more squared.

Thanks once again!

Okay. I was just making sure. ^_^

Expect me to comment a lot on this. It's quite interesting.
