Capcom Shoots Down Devil May Cry HD Collection Rumors, DmC Playable By Year’s End

During the days before E3 2011 rumors were swirling around the Internet claiming that Capcom was readying a Devil May Cry HD collection which would include the first three games released on the PS2. Today that rumor was debunked by Capcom’s Christian Svensson, who stated that, “The murmurs about the DMC 1-3 HD collections were just rumors and speculation.” Svensson did mention that Capcom might have something special planned for the series’ 10th anniversary.


Staying on the subject of Devil May Cry, Svensson also confirmed that Ninja Theory’s heavily criticized ( and unwanted by this DMC fan ) reboot, DmC, will have another showing at Gamescom 2011 or the Tokyo Game Show later this year. He also promises the game will be in playable form by the end of the year.

Not really to bummed at the HD remakes not coming out.

I already have all of the originals so I fine with it lol.

I however would like to play a demo of DmC. Depending on how good it is I MIGHT be able to look past the fact that the old dante I know and love is dead and gone in this new DmC series.

Really disappointed with this... I was really hoping I could play DMCs 1,2 and 3 in HD. =(
About the DmC demo news... although I want to see new gameplay, I'm not in a hurry to play a demo. As long as they make a really polished game, they can take any time they need.

Maybe they'll release something that ties up all the questions left from previous Devil May Cry, like a book or a manga, and will release all deleated scenes from previous Devil May Cry games (especially Devil May Cry 4). That'll be the best I can ask for.

I dont think Capcom cared that much about the storyline when they were doing the original series to really care now about answering any questions that they could answered in the series if they werent too lazy.
Like How is related to Dante and if Sparda is dead or if vergil is dead after the events of DMC1 etc.
Four could have answered them in just a couple of lines of dialogue.
