..:: Prologue ::..

The silence of the night shattered. Repeated gun shots fired out in the distance. One, two, three, four, five, six. Silence. “Must be reloaded. That must be an older gun.” Tired eyes fixated on two customs pistols laying entwined on the desk. “Normal crime or demons?” A weary mind pondered, daring not to move in case the tranquility, he had worked so hard to create, would break. The chorus of gun shots began again, 6 this time as well, reload, they began again. “Ah, I guess I didn't really have a choice.” Dante pushed his legs off of the rim of his desk, his chair falling back onto two legs and then onto the ground. Dante used this opportunity to pick up the piece of pizza he had dropped earlier, getting to his feet. Using one hand to eat the pizza, the other to holster Ebony and Ivory, then to remove Rebellion from the wall. Connecting it to the sheath placed on his back, Dante heads for the door, pushing it open and taking the last bite of his pizza.

The cool night air was refreshing against Dante's face, although his lips began to feel cold, he licked the grease from them and all was well again. He began to casually, cockily, stroll down the street directly ahead, assuming thats where the shots had come from. They had stopped for a while, maybe it was over, maybe he wasted his time. “There they are.” The shots began again, this time, after the 3rd shot, a screech was heard. Too high to be a human, this was definitely a demon incident. Dante picked up the pace, taking short cuts through alley ways, he began to get slightly excited, a big change from the relaxation he had felt a moment ago. Then again, this was what he lived for.

To what had seemed an eternity to Dante, he reached his destination. 3 demons had surrounded a woman, a portal at the end of the street seemed to be endlessly spitting out demons, one after another. The woman began firing again, 6 shots, 3 dead demons. The woman looked over, allowing Dante to catch his first real look at her. She had a young face, striking blue eyes shone through light blond colored hair. She was dressed in a dark robe, although it wasn't really a robe, just a skirt and a jumper, when she moved you could she her skin appearing at the waist line. She smirked at Dante, before releasing the barrel, dropping 6 shells and reloading 6 fresh bullets in. Locking the barrel back in before sliding it across her free hand, causing the barrel to spin at an accelerated speed. “What a show off.” Dante thought to himself, before taking steps forward to enter into the fray. The young woman turned to him. “Arm yourself because no one else here will save you.” She mocked, turning to fire two more rounds, dropping one more demon. Dante laughed heartily out loud before swinging his right arm back, grabbing Rebellion's hilt and bringing it in front of his body.

“Just watch and learn, baby!” Dante yelled, lunging forward and elegantly bringing Rebellion through the gut of a demon, slicing him in half. Dante turned to the side, plunging Rebellion into the demon behind him. Dante let go of Rebellion, as the demon staggered off and fell down. The demons now surrounded Dante, as the woman sat back and watched. Dante coolly smiled, throwing both hands behind him, re-emerging with Ebony and Ivory. A hail of bullets entered the night, courtesy of Dante as he began to fire into the demons surrounding, taking them out with one shot. “Thats how it should be done!” He taunted, throwing the woman a mocking look, as the demons around him feel. The portal was still spitting out demons, causing Dante to quickly holster Ebony and Ivory, leap forward, retrieve Rebellion and throw it towards the direction of the demon portal. The sword sung through the air as it pierced a line of demons and forced them back into the portal, forcing the portal to clog and eventually close as Rebellion pierced the concrete of the building opposite. “You must be Dante.”
