No, you don't. You seem like a good person. Think about the past and what happened at the times you thought you let your friends down. How did they react? What did they say and do? Did they make you look guilty because they were angry for the moment?

Two of your FRIENDS argued and then one asked you to side with him? He should know that you are friend with the other one too and the best way to stay happy with both is too not siding with them and just try to come up with another solution. If your friend said that to you that person sees you more like a tool too back him up than a person with perspectives and emotions aswell. You shouldn't feel bad for that, the positions should be reversed, he should feel bad for what he said.
