But, he junctioned with his summon and everything went amok. He turned into Sin and destroyed his own city, bevelle blamed machina was the cause of Sin's appearance, thus Yevon and it's false beliefs were created. Yunalesca stopped her father by sacrificing her loved one (I don't remember his name... -.-) for him to be the final summoning and for him to destroy Sin. When he destroyed the summon Yu Yevon still was there, and junctioned with him. After that, summoners have sacrificed themselves to destroy Sin for it to disappear for a small period of time. With Yunalesca guidance, as she died when summoning the final summoning and never got sent.
