It's such an awkward scene. It comes out of nowhere and leaves you thinking: WTF did I just see!?.
I don't know whether to laugh at that scene or cringe.:/

During a firefight, the last person you wanna waste bullets on is a non-combatant. Doesn't matter if you want to kill the non-combatant at some point, priority and bullets go to the people actively shooting at you.

Well, till Dante gets Kat they shoot in f**in nowhere. So whom they were aiming? They are SWAT btw, they should kill Kat with 1 shot (she was not too far away from them) and then try to kill D&V. But it's impossible for them because of D&V regenaration. So here is one more question...why Mundus entrusted them exchange? They didn't protect Lilith, they didn't kill Kat and they can't do at least anything to Nephilims.
And then goes unexplained time slowing.
Yeah this scene is definitely worst.

I'm not asking you to become a pro player and make youtube videos, but you're complaining about things being cheap or not having enough variety, but you won't take the time to learn a few tricks that will help you dominate enemies or expand the combat possibilities for you. You want to break Vergil's guard, use kabloeey, you want to break his guard use a charged ricoshot, you want to just dodge, well then demon dodge and then attack him.

You're contradicting yourself. You say first that you're not asking me to become a pro player but yet you're telling me that i should take the time to learn (whatever that may be) some tricks in how to defeat the enemies....uh, why should i? Why can't i do my own way? Like i said, i've SSS rank all the missions and such with my skill alone with no advice from anyone, but yet i have to learn some tricks just because you feel that my opinion about some of the mechanics doesn't agree with yours. You're again not comprehending what i've been saying throughout my posts. I have different priorities then you when playing these types of games. You use it to find tricks, i use it to unlock stuff and have a good time. That's nice that you found some tricks to defeat him, but i already SSS rank the whole game and unlocked everything, i have no interest in playing it again just to try out your advice.

See, I really don't get it. The final DT "QTE, It's hardly some huge requirement that takes you out of the action. I mean on one hand, I see you complaining about narrative issues and then wheres a small slight extremely clever "gimmick" that makes sense with the narrative and that you only need for .01 seconds you're making a huge deal out of it. Also, did you know you can kill Vergil without the him falling to his knees "gimmick", if you activate DT earlier and just keep doing your combos to a finishing blow its seamless, and you don't have to have that final moment that takes you out of it.

I don't find it clever, i find it stupid. This kind of reminds me of Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Obliteration Technique. In which you have to press the Triangle button in front of the enemy in order to finish off the enemy, because if not they'll get there health back. I found that annoying to. With DmC its: Vergil is down, got DT (which you'll more then likely have after beating his doppleganger) and then DT and kill him. Sure if you don't DT Vergil will just get up again, but i just find both games scenarios really annoying. BTW, i'm not making a huge deal out of it, you are, by insisting that i'm making a huge deal about it. This is MY OPINION and you seem not to get this. You're like latching on this like you can't stand that i think this way.

So, as you can see, it's not like you can't use a bazillion tactics on Vergil, but rather that you didn't care enough to figure them out. In the end, what I think what happened is that you lost interest in the game before you mastered its combat system. The only reason you feel like DMC3 vergil was more fair and you felt more in control is because you mastered DMC3 and were able to dominate him; believe me when I say you can do the exact same thing to DmC Vergil.

How do you know if i didn't figure it out or not? Have you seen me play? Maybe i probably found a better way then you? Maybe not, what i'm saying is simply....IT DOESN'T MATTER!.

You're sounding extremely elitist now and also really arrogant. How do you know if i lost interest in the game? Yeah i guess i lost interest when i SSS rank every difficulty, every mission which includes the DLC. I unlocked all the art pictures and all...obviously i wasn't interested huh. I even spent money on getting the DLC costumes and skins for the weapons, hell i even pre-ordered the game and i'm arguing with you about my opinion on DmC...yet you think i wasn't interested in the game.....wow.

As for the point about DmC's lack of weapons, there are only two less guns that DMC3 and unlike DMC3 you can have all the weapons and guns at once.

DmC weapons 5 vs DMC3 Weapons 5
Rebellion Rebellion
Aquilas Agni & Rudra
Osiris Cerberus
Eryx Beowulf
Arbitrer Nevan

DmC Guns 3.5 DMC3 Guns 5
Ebony & Ivory Ebony & Ivory/Spiral
Revenant Shotgun
Kablooey Kalina Ann
Artemis

Plus DmC has the two devil arms that pull in enemies and also pull you towards enemies, so I'm not sure what weapons you were missing. Like I said you obviously were done with the game and didn't feel the need to experiment with the combat system, but the DmC Dante is definitely not lacking in weapons and move variety, you just have to think a little outside the box and you can find yourself doing some really fun stuff.

*sigh* This is why i hate talking to gameplay aficionados. Once someone doesn't agree with them, they latch onto it and never seem to shut up about it.

You just said in this post that you're trying not to make me a Pro Player...yet you're telling me all of this stuff like i give a damn. My gawd man. I'm trying not to be mean to you, but you're really pushing me to be very blunt and nasty to you. Don't go there. Let it go. And also, i never asked for your advice on how to beat whomever...

All I'm trying to do is counter some of the criticisms you've made with some facts. You write in a very confident fashion, so when someone responds to your post in an equally confident tone don't take it so personally.

First, about the losing interest thing, I didn't mean that as a slight. It's not your fault that you were able to beat the game and get all SSS without feeling any need to get more creative the combat engine. What I meant was DMC3 or DMC1 or whichever game you prefer was able to keep your interest long enough and also required you to learn the advanced tech that let you dominate the enemies and bosses in those games.

Anyway, correct me if I"m wrong, what you're saying is that if the game made it harder to get SS/SSS rank like DMC3, meaning that the player had to master the "pro' tactics that you don't usually care for, then you wouldn't have any issue learning them or figuring them out, but since it was possible to beat DmC without learning these "tricks" & "tactics" you didn't see any need to learn them?

Because, lets be honest, there is no way someone can SS rank all of DMC3 without learning some of the more advanced combat stuff in that game, a lot of which isn't just explained to the player, but has to be discovered through extensive gameplay or outside research.

But anyway, fine, if you feel like this is not a worthwhile discussion, we don't have to discuss it further.

Don't you know, that was supposed to be a REALLY romantic scene :p with rose petals scattered on the bed and sexy saxphone music, and Mundus whispering sweet nothings in Lilith's ear about how much he loves his scary oversized plastic doll of stretchy skin :'( it would've been the most beautiful masterpiece in gaming creation *sobs*

But yeah I swear if they do a movie, they should totally take the pee out of that scene by making you think Mundus and Lilith are doing it...but they're just playing twister or Lilith is giving him a back massage. That would be just so perfect!

Mission f#@king 18...the mission that took me a day to complete with that damn puzzle. If I didn't had other important stuff to do back then...I would've did it in about 30 minutes.

Reminds me of the mission 13 puzzle.

Vergil's pathetic-ness. His own agenda now is so utterly stupid and embarrassing. He only wants to fight Dante because he believes Dante is stronger then him. While i did prefer his DLC to the main game, his reasoning in the end to go after Dante was so childish and idiotic.

I take issue with this because it's sort of utterly wrong. Vergil's agenda had next to nothing to do with Dante beating him. He ends up fighting Dante in DmC because of their wholly differing views, and in Vergil's Downfall he's cutting all emotional ties so that petty things like love and emotions don't get in the way of his goal, which requires gaining power.

At no point is it really about him needing to overcome Dante because he beat him previously, or because he's stronger than Vergil. All Dante's victory over Vergil did was show Vergil that he needed more power and less friends if he was going to achieve his goal of taking his "rightful" place ruling over humans.

It feels odd to tell people they're wrong about something they feel, but...this is all based on incorrect facts it seems :/

Also, a QTE is a QTE, there's nothing else like it, because it's pretty cut and dry - all control is taken away from the player in order for them to continue the game using one well-timed button press (or jam). The gimmick in Vergil's fight isn't all that different from gimmicks seen all throughout the rest of DMC, but suffers only from some slightly bad conveyance - the only hint you get that you're going to need to kill him while DT'd is the fact that his Doppelganger bleeds Purple Orbs. The funny thing is, you talk about how that gimmick completely takes away any options for you as the player, when it really doesn't. You DT, and then you can do whatever moves you want - you aren't restricted at all other than needing to end the fight while in DT; just like needing Doppelganger to be in a spotlight, or Nevan's cloak to be down, Cerberus' ice armor to be gone. They're just simple, gimmicky restrictions put on the fights to make them slightly less "just hit this guy till he dies."

The 3 years of insults from Tameem to the moment it was released.

So tired of hearing this bullsh!t with no legitimate facts to back it up.

I'd also say that while you have the right to post where ever you want, that doesn't exclude you from getting flack, especially when you can't say anything constructive to the actual discussion. You're really no different than MrRandomLulz and his stupid sh!t.

You're still ignoring the whole point of not bothering with something that isn't a threat. Them not being able to hit Dante and Vergil (and Kat) is explained away by the sad magic of plot armor that everything is guilty of, unless it's a maiming shot or the character has some other way of surviving the blow. The fact remains though, that they were still shooting at the two people with guns that were shooting at them, which is one of the most logical and procedural things to do - take out the threat before wasting resources on something incidental.

They didn't really even get a chance to protect Lilith, no one was expecting the captor hoping to make a trade to kill their own leverage.

Also remember that they had no idea Vergil was a Nephilim, so by all accounts they were under the impression that at least one of them could be killed :p

Again, I'm not giving it a free pass, but we gotta remember that these guys were following a simple combat rule. Just because we would have done something differently doesn't make our idea somehow better :x

And I'd be happy with someone doing the same for me. There's been a few times when I've been disgruntled about something that's based solely on an incorrect/incomplete view or something. Knowing more of the "why" helps me understand it better, and possibly not be irate about it. Case in point: the Trade was full of some pretty heavy plot armor, and I've grown tired of it. However, because I know how most trained combatants handle firefights, I did not for a moment question why they didn't just blow Kat away when everything went sour.
