why are there no angels in DmC?

As for a serious reason...maybe the angels were too sacred of the demons to be in the human world. There can't be a total ban on angels in the human world due to Eva living there with Sparda...so maybe they are afraid of what the demons would do if they went to the human world.

they were in a lot of the flashbacks with dante and his mother. so i guess after mundus killed eva, the rest of the angels fled earth
