What Are You Thinking?

The gym at 8am is better but the gym at 8am means it is at 8am and I don't like anything that happens in the am.

And what does am even mean? "Agh! Morning!" ?

I could look it up but I don't want to. It's still am right now, after all.

I always took AM as after midnight and PM and past midday. I don't think that's the actual meaning to it but it works.

Will you lot stop getting older!!

Time has just flown by...when I first joined the boards, I was...23/24?

Now I'm nearly 44, with the joints of someone twice my age and three spawn who are no longer smol. One is 25 next month...

I still have some messages from past members here getting stressed about their high school drama and now they themselves likely have kids.

In my head, all of you lot are hovering around 17 years old. So stay there :LOL:
 
Welp, lost my job today. We knew it was coming. The whole thing started months ago and they didn't even tell us until recently. The job sucked so I was already looking for another one but since I was one of the last 3 people there I had an overwhelming amount of work to do before the end so that whole job-hunting thing was more of an afterthought. Well, plenty of time, now. I think I'll catch up on sleep, first and foremost.

I, sadly, did not have the excuse of youth for my oftentimes absurdly immature behaviours back in the day. I was just an idiot. The cringe is strong with this one...

Oh man, I'm really sorry to hear that. Even if the job was garbage, it still isn't great. Hope you can get some rest and then find something else that really fits

Thank you. I hated that f'n' job but you must always have an income. My mother is needs an operation and my father just dropped a ton of money on it so I'll have to use my saving to help them out. I don't know how but it's always the same story. One bad thing comes with a whole lot more right behind it.

I think I was around 19 when I joined the board. Maybe 20. I will be 40 in December. I'm not ready for that, but hey it's part of life right?

I am sorry to hear that! I was in the same boat May of last year, when Joann Fabrics closed. Then I went back to school, and now I'm looking for another job. the job market is awful right now. I hate having to rely on my parents for money. and I also don't know how much longer, I will be able to do that, they are both retired now.
 
It's truly wild how long some of us have been here. And I think with social media fatigue, we might see an uptick in the return to forum-style communication. I dunno, it's always felt a bit of a safer option than the cesspools of Facebook, tiktok and the like.

Plus, y'know, old lady is old and I can't keep up with the young people anyway. The amount of times I have to find out the definition of what stupid new words my 15 year old is using is soul destroying. I feel like my mother.

Other Current Thoughts: this week is going to be far too hot. I shall be hibernating in the chest freezer until Friday.

It says something that we have been here that long. Take it from someone who's migrated from forum to forum trying to find a place. I went from IGN to Devil's Lair to Phantom Babies and back and forth till I found something here. I ultimately ended up hating each of those forums, expect DL. That one just shut down.
