What changes have you seen that you disliked?

If you disliked something, do you feel that it might have been all right existing in a regular DMC game in one form or another?

Alright dmc.org, let's hear your thoughts. Remember: don't go after anyone for their personal take.

Liked: Personally I am a very big fan of the "world out to get you" concept. I think it adds great potential for badassery if the entire world is out to kill you and can't. I can't imagine a more epic conclusion to a game than beating the entire planet into submission. Maybe it's just me, but I'd love to pull off a feat like that in just about any game series regardless of the studio or genre. Yes, that includes Viva Piñata just because it would result in unfathomable amounts of candy when you busted the planet open in the end.

Disliked: While I like a badass main character who smokes (it's a character design motif for free-spirited and antagonistic), I'm not a huge fan of Dante's new hairdo. At first glance it looks overly ordinary, but there's something about it that just looks strange upon closer inspection. Maybe it's just me.

Alrighty!
Liked: They actually care about the story. Ignoring the fact that it's an alternate timeline and he's half-angel, I really don't foresee much wrong with the presentation so far. Dante seems to be a good character, but it's still too early to judge. Here's to hoping he's not exactly like Kratos and Monkey. Of course, the environments and the concept of a city that wants to kill you are amazing; and the fighting system is pretty polished at this point, though it could still use some work.

Disliked: His first re-design (skinny, odd-looking) and the fact that he smoked. Looks like that's completely gone though. Also, the framerate. 30 fps isn't a huge issue, but it can be for people who are used to precisely timing the hell out of their action/fighting games. I'm a bit scared Unreal Engine can't provide the same consistent and enjoyable juggle physics MT framework could.

That may be it :D

Liked :stuff , particularly the fact that they mention spiderman in one of the interview :3
Disliked :stuff , particularly framerate and it just looks inferior to previous installments
Ok now that that is done

Not to worry, all are free to discuss DmC. The only way to go truly off topic is to argue, which is the real beauty of it all if you ask me.

Liked: The fact that demons existing unnoticed in human society is not new. It's been done in plenty of series. What I like is how they took an angry, powerful, misunderstood youth and used it. That whole section where he's chained up and under surveillance is great. Gives the notion that insidious forces are behind real-world problems and by killing teh demons you're fixing it. Yeah, that's not a new concept in fiction either, but by using a young adult it becomes relevant to high school/college life in a very cool way. Ever been in a room with a doctor that's trying to tell you that your mental condition makes you unfit for regular society? No worries, he's just a demon in disguise. Put a bullet through his noggin. Naturally, this sort of game won't be very popular with all the folks who **** themselves over video games and school violence.

What changes have you seen that you liked? There's a boss in one of the trailers that looks like a giant/human/cockroach hybrid. It's friggin ingenius. I mean, HOW DO YOU KILL A COCKROACH, right?????? The challenge is ON!
Dante's voice. Not Reuben, but oh my, it's grown on me.
The music. Badass. Especially from the second trailer, I think it was. It's going to get me pumped for a fight rather than make me freak out under pressure like in DMC4. :ermm:
The world being a character in the story and moving and changing to try and kill Dante or stop him from doing whatever it is he's going to do. Again, ingenius. It's like Silent Hill, one step further. (imo)
He runs and says '****' in one of the trailers, when the world starts changing. So so so so funneh. I like the crudeness.
Some of the design work reminds me a lot of Bayonetta/DMC4. Familiar. I lyk it.
The quote by David Hume in the first trailer. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

What changes have you seen that you disliked?
He doesn't sound angry enough when he's beating the dung out of the demons. If he's meant to be an angry and confused youth, then don't make him monotonous and dull. Dante always used to be funny or at least sound wounded when he was fighting. Don't take the oomph out of Dante. PLEASE!!!!!
That chic looks way too much like Lucia. I'm not a fan.
I don't like how they use the characters to keep telling you what you have to do. C'mon, we're not idiots. That's going to get on my nerves. I can see how I play the game with the sound off.
They haven't made a trailer with that Hardknox song from Me,Myself and Irene yet. WHY NOT?!?!? That song totally rocks!!
Why does the floor say 'suck you'? That ain't cool man, that just weird.
That chic keeps saying 'it's chaos out here!!!' This is going to be like Nero's 'Kyrie!!' isn't it? Gah, I hope that chic dies early on in the game.
Where has the white patch of hair disappeared to? :(
Also, if it's a younger Dante, why does he have such a strong bone structure? DMC3 Dante looks younger than this Dante. He has an oval face, not a square one. WHY Capcom? I can see now why a lot of people said it's a new character with Dante's name. Because it kinda is. *insert massive disappointed face here*
WHY IS HE STILL WEARING A SHIRT?! I know 'most' gamers are guys, but COME ON, bring on the eyecandy for the ladies already!
Why is there talk of angels but we don't get to see any in the trailers?
His nose. (I'm not kidding. I'm really disappointed about this)
Is it me or are his pants getting tighter and tighter in every new trailer?

If you disliked something, do you feel that it might have been all right existing in a regular DMC game in one form or another?
I'm going to just elaborate on his nose here. There is just no saving his face. The nose is just as big and unsightly as before. So no. It makes no difference, in the reboot or the regular series. Ugly is ugly.

LMAO
Yes! Finally, someone who thinks the same way i do about his hooter.
This is why its easier to draw chibi's... no noses... :P
I agree completely with Dante Stalker's post (i just quoted that bit 'cause it thought it was awesome).
Does it say 'suck you'? I thought it said f.... you know what i mean :P
I like: The style of the fighting.
TBH, there's only one video that impressed me and that was the afforementioned (oh long word) 'it's chaos out here/suck you' trailer.

I don't have any likes or dislikes.

The only thing i am uncomfortable with it the breaking and ripping apart of level (in said trailer). Motion sickness can be pretty nasty >_<
Oh and I'm not keen on giant coackroaches that look like the Crawler's (Fable III) older sister.

All in all, I like the whole concept of DmC and I am waiting with vigor that I get to actually play it. All the pieces form up one interesting and alluring game, and since the whole entirety is whispering pleasant promises I wouldn’t try to scrutinize it in the means of finding bad aspects and points.
But I think that I’m most excited about the Dante-hunting Limbo city and the layers Dante himself and the world has. The story seems to be big, and for me it’s more rewarding that the tough battles will have the prize of advancing story instead of merely pushing you to a new level without anything refreshing going on.

Yet I’m sure there will be something in the finished game I will not like, but that is something with everything, even my favorite games, movies, books etc. It’s kind of impossible to make something that is perfect all the way. ;)

@Dante Stalker & Vergils Bitch

You two need to get a room .... (with me)

What i like:
I like everything so far, and as more footage comes out, the better it seems to be. I honestly think "the escape" trailer is just the tip of the ice berg of what kind of chase sequences might randomly occur throughout the game and i hope the difficulty will stress out all my new abilities and reflexes.
I think the combat looks great especially since its the beginning and i think Dante doesn't have too much abilities bought thus far. And i hope all the new weapons have as much flash as the angelic and demonic ones.
The story so far is hard to judge but i think it'll be engaging. Like Kammo said, the boss battles may actually serve a purpose and progress the story instead of just bringing you back to a mission menu and you do the same thing over again.
I hope the puzzles aren't as lame as before. Hopefully the new platforming will have you exploring more and discovering new secrets about the game or what not.

What i dislike:
30 fps could be the biggest issue of them all. But if they changed the combat to preform combos moves with in the 30fps without the need to have rhythm or split timing and instead give the player the choice to choose whenever they want to change their weapon and do a combo, i'll be fine.
and the DT. Maybe it will be difficult to stay airbore the entire time in DT, who knows, but it looks rather easy but only time will tell.

Lesse...

Le things that I...

Liked: Personally, the music used in the first trailer that came out. Catchy. Pretty catchy.

Disliked: I don't know if it's just me, but I think the movements are kinda slow. Draggy compared to the usual stuff. >> Dante's design, needless to say. The change was just KINDA drastic. He looked like a stoned emo...and he smokes! When I saw the trailer for the first time I felt like I was trolled. :| Slapping him suddenly with white hair for the DT like thingy? Not cutting it. The fact that they went from prequel, to AU, to reboot...fans react....they can't make up their mind. Half angel half demon hybrid. =.=
