Yeah, true, this Vergil is ruthless and dangerous, but he does a lot for his brother and seems to genuinely want to keep the world from going to hell (unlike other versions that were the exact opposite of all that). So he's not really a villain at the end of DmC. But that may change at the end of his DLC
I don't know what is his downfall is. But my guess is that Dante is still labeled as terrorist/half demon and still has a very tough time fighting demons as well.
If Vergil remain unscathed in the DLC ending I guess that he might pop out saying. "I told you that humans will be humans."
