Rumours suggest that Sony is preparing to officially announce Uncharted 3 for the PlayStation 3 next month, a day after the Spike Video Game Awards.
Apparently U.S. jurnos have been sent out invites to a big Sony event on 12th December, the day after the televised Spike Video Game Awards. There don't seem to be any clues in the invite itself, but website Kotaku claims that its sources are certain it's another Uncharted game.
According to them Uncharted 3 will be unveiled in video form at the Spike VGAs and the event the next day will be to showcase it in more detail. There's also the suggestion that some U.S. press events have already taken place, presumably so that previews can be put live as soon as the VGAs are over.
Uncharted 3 has been more or less guaranteed for a while now, even though the first two games never seemed to enjoy quite the level of success they deserved. Developer Naughty Dog has often spoken of their desire to make a third game and voice actor Nolan North has hinted he's already on board.
Although the first game was nicknamed 'Dude Raider' the sequel improved the mix of platforming, third person shooting and cinematic banter dramatically - and was one of our favourite games of last year.
