Total Amount of Weapon Combos

After some thinking, I've compiled a list of the total amount of combos you can make for Rebellion, Osiris, and Arbiter. To give a heads- up, Rebellion has the most and Arbiter has the least. I'm not sure whether I have all the moves since I used the "a look at the game mechanics" thread as a referrence. If there's anything you guys could add, please do so.

Before I start, I'll explain how I named the combos so you guys don't get confused. I named them after what attack I cancel the combo with. For example, if I cancel Combo A with a High Time, it'll be called High Time A. Same thing with Combo B, which would be High Time B. The number before the title is the number of possible places I cancel the combo either after the first hit (Combo A) or pause (Combo B).

So that's about 194 total combos all together. That's alot! For a quick comparison, DMC 4 Dante's Rebellion had about 90 or so combos alone but that's because the Style system gave him a huge boost.

I would do Eryx but I'm not sure about the moves and mechanics. If I were to try anything, it would just be mere guesswork.

So what do you guys think? NT have done a pretty good job with the amount of stuff we can do. As a personal pre- game analysis, I would say Osiris is the best weapon out of three. It's fast and the most versatile, has a wide attack radius, and you can teleport behind your enemies using it's special Angel Evade.

Good Work on your list,
Did you make another similar one but for Rebellion? it would be pretty nifty to see.

wow! nice work railazel, that's quite alot of combos! and just think that's only with three weapons!
so from your calculations this devil may cry could have the most combos out of any dmc game?

I've never really put that much thought into it....I just go by the moves listed in the skill list for each DMC game and the amount of combos I can pull off is just all in my imagination or my own skills.

But then again you never though about air/land combo chaining utilizing the jump cancelling & angel lift and demon lift.

Not sure. It has the potential, but all depends on the number of combos for each individual weapon. If every weapon was like Osiris or Rebellion, then DmC could have the highest number of combos in all the DMCs. However, with weapons like Arbiter popping up, it won't even beat DMC 3.

Here, I'll make a list for Cerberus and Beowulf to give a sense of what DmC's contending with:

Cerberus

2 Evade As

62 Combos Total

Add those two with Rebellion and you have 243 total combos between those three weapons, a hundred more than DmC's arsenal.

The only way NT can surpass DMC 3 and 4 is if they full flesh out the versatility of each individual weapon. Arbiter, for example, could have 4x as many combos as it does now if it had Air combos. Doing that could really boost up the number of combos total for all weapons.

But then again you never though about air/land combo chaining utilizing the jump cancelling & angel lift and demon lift.

I already added Angel Lift and Demon Pull. Jump Cancelling doesn't really count, all it does is just interrupt a combo.

Mind the double- post, I just liked on the DMC wiki site and they have a move list for Eryx. Not that I'm sure that it's correct but it's something to go on. I'm going to use Beowulf titles as a referrence for names.

This is why DmC is better than everything else.
But wait a minute, without even counting all of the weapons (3 of 5), Railazel showed that DMC3 had more combos than DmC

Ergo, it is not the best.

But it does look good, Edgeworth will give it that.

DMC3 has more combos overall or with just two weapons, two guns, and one style, like the game plays? Because, if it is the later, there should be an inferior amount you can do compared to both DMC4 and DmC... which basically give you all the tools to play with at once.

I know DMC3 has the most amount of combos but if you can only utilize a small set of it at a time then it is silly to say that it really does.

So what he is saying is that DMC3 had the most combos/weapons but DMC4 allowed you all combos/weapons in battle while DMC3 only allowed for like 1/5 of your entire moveset per 1 mission.

Hopefully DmC has as much or more weapons than DMC3....so far 6 is pretty good(Rebellion, E&I, Arbiter, Eryx, Osiris, and not shown yet highly confirmed Shotgun) and they'll most likely have 7 since their is another angel weapon around the corner.

It has been shown. But not in action.

DmC has two styles in one with Rebellion: Nero/Dante. Also, Arbiter & Osiris are brand new to the Devil May Cry series.

Everything else has been seen before. Hopefully, they'll throw in some more weapons new to the series and not rely on "What worked before" to be the main arsenal. 4 GAMES IS ENOUGH CAPCOM!

Heads up for angelic nunchucks. :D

They should really do a totally new weapon with new techniques and stuff.. but think about how well does DMC3 Cerberus work as an angel weapon? I mean, things seem to point out that angelic stuff are mostly cold or ice-like, while demonics are related to fire. Example of this are the two enemies that can only be attacked by either type of weapon, and Eryx is on fire.

Just saying, but whatever it is, I hope they give it a lot of moves for it like the Osiris has... and also be a little more air oriented as well.

Whether you can use some of those combos at a given time or not doesn't matter since I'm counting the total number of combos you can do.

I wouldn't say so. Six of DmC's weapons can't beat three of DMC 3's. That's not a good sign. Once DmC adds another weapon and it beats DMC 3's three, I'll have to add another one of DMC 3's weapons just to keep it fair.

UPDATE: I just added Shotgun to DmC's combo list. The number had just raised up to 194 Total Combos. I also added E&I and Shotgun to Rebellion's combo list as well as to Beowulf's and Cerberus'. Their Total Combo number has increased to 243.

I would say so seeing as it's a long way from release and we've already gotten this much info. On top of that, they're still adding things into the gameplay, notice Malice's latest footage how now you can cancel out of glide and you can triple even quadruple helm breaker.

I just hope they took a good look at how nero was used. Not his style of attacking but how the gave him a lot of attacks in general like how he had 2 pause combos on the ground and had forward back attacks like calibur and maybe the Agni and Rudra weapons from DMC3, it had a pause after a pause. Lots of weapons are great but i also want a big variety of attacks with a single weapon too.
