To each His or Her Own... DmC's has its own charms from the rest

In regards to the Devil may Cry franchise, TO each his or her own I guess, I only played DMC 3 and about to play 4 and seen some gameplay with the other 2. Currently I'm loving the DmC reboot, and Dante's design (which i plan to cosplay some day). Although i had more of a challenge and fun playing in the 3rd, I still am willing to give the reboot a chance.. and I enjoyed it, gameplay and story wise! However, I'd rather consider the reboot as an offshoot instead of something that will replace the entire franchise.
Kinda like how Classic Marvel is different to the Ultimate versions. *now don't go all technical with me, i know DmC franchise is a whole different case, but seriously I'd like to give it some benefit initially*
So, I'd like to see it as a whole new different DmC.. a Devil may Cry: Alternate Universe or something like that. And that's how it really is instead of looking at it as a potential threat or replacement to the franchise.
To those who were willing to give this game a chance like me, it may not be THE BEST reboot compared to Tomb Raider, but i think it's worth the experience of trying something new.
to those who dislike the reboot, okay, we're all entitled to our opinions whether, gauging it by levels of negativity, mild or strong. I've learned to respect that.
And to those who just think violently bashing the games and overreacting to those who would want to try the game, GROW UP.
I've also heard how Capcom and Ninja Theory handled these "controversy", and i think it was, errrr, handled poorly. I've also read well-balanced forums on this matter, both sides (even the neutral ones) have made their points level-headedly and intelligently. So again, I RESPECT!

FINAL vERDICT: TO each his or her own I guess...AGAIN! I'm enjoying the reboot, but that doesnt mean i'm disregarding the previous four. So, I say to you, fellow fans, Don't consider this as a bane of existence to replace the classics, but plainly as an alternate storyline. (of course a lot of you know this..)

That's a good stance to take. Yeah, NT and Capcom could've handled it a lot better, all the negativity around the games, I mean.

But I really do hope DmC does not end up replacing the DMC franchise. I hope that somehow, both can exist. But for that to happen, I think Capcom would have to develop one, and Ninja Theory would have to develop the other. Capcom for DMC5, NT for DmC. Or, if Capcom doesn't want to make another DMC game, Platinum Games.

I agree with you there. Even if in extreme cases, fanbases will be divided, i think it's much better than changing the whole franchises. I honestly think Capcom's primarily wrong in many ways EVEN at the beginning, NT just followed with the publicity stunt. Even if DMC had a huge fan base, I do believe it was very underrated compared to other franchises, am I right?

Yeah, Devil May Cry isn't really that well-known, I'd say. Or rather, some people tend to shy away from it, since it's very Japanese anime-like in appearance. Nothing wrong with that, though. And underrated, well... I'm not sure I'd say that, but it's like people are a bit too happy to just pretend like DMC never happened. I mean, there were four games - that's a lot of games. But all of a sudden, there's people calling DMC3 'DmC3' on Youtube. Kind of weird.

Anyway, I think we should get a DMC5, too. The series (even though it's not really a series) should end with something about Nero getting stronger and surpassing Dante. Or meeting Sparda... or something else. Something to end the series before continuing with DmC.

DmC 3? Lol. it's probably because of the new trendy title. but, originally i wouldnt want to pay much attention to that, since i really consider that as an EXTREMELY minor typo. i mean, just a lower case 'm', right? i dunno maybe acronym rules and stuff? But, now, i see that people tend to be technical about it, that being DMC is completely different from DmC. so, i guess, being careful is what's needed.

Marketing Stunt fail... i guess. Like i mentioned earlier if NT and Capcom handled it better, maybe the game wouldnt have had a lot of thrashings. They would've been at least polite about it and be more inviting to try "something new".
