THEORIES VERGIL'S DOWNFALL

why is vergil in hell?

alright, so why did vergil go to hell, my theory is that he's gonna try and find sparda and in a twist instead of saving him take his power and become the new demon king, or at least get some reassurance and closure from his father like dante got with eva in the main game
 
Possibly as a proving ground? He was beaten by Dante so maybe he wants to hone himself and his style, gain more power and strength, and then return to take Dante on again. I think his quest for power is going to stay just like the DMC series. No one knows what's down there waiting for him though, so it should be interesting. As for Sparda, does Mundus actually say Sparda is in hell? We know he is imprisoned, but we don't know where.
 
First, Vergil didn't just fling himself to the place like in DMC3.
He possibly knows well where he is going.
 
He is defeated by an unknown power in the underworld.

Spoilers in white, highlight to read: Do we really kniw Mundus is dead? It is seen that when Vergil closes the hell gate, Mundus fuses with the body of Kyle Ryder.
It seems like the real Mundus, his soul or essence was piloting that body like a remote control car while he was still in hell. Is it possible after the death of Ryder's body that Mundus' soul or essence got free and is waiting in hell for Vergil?
 
I think it will start at the ending of the game... We saw Vergil dissapear after being beaten by Dante... So he probably left to the Demon World and will search for something... Maybe he will the one, who will gain more devil powers (Full Devil Trigger) at the end... Dante had it hinted with the last pic as well in the ending

In DMC3 he had full trigger already while Dante not
 
I went with "to save Sparda", or otherwise do something regarding Sparda. The way he said in game that Sparda's been banished and he's just never coming back was such a massive cop-out that I can't accept it. Why would they confirm for certain that Sparda isn't dead, and then say we'll never hear from him again, so forget they ever mentioned him? What in the world is the point of that?
 
Okay here's my theory for Vergil's Downfall. I believe Vergil has gone to hell to acquire the power of Sparda or maybe even the defeated Mundus. Once he has completed this journey I believe he will come back to the human realm. Once he is here you will see him walk up to a shop, Dante's shop....Devil May Cry. Then Dante comes outside to confront his brother with these lines, "It's been a whole year since we last met.........right Vergil?" Bam cliffhanger for DmC2.
 
Wonder if Vergil will get new weapons in this story. Not just Yamato & the summoned swords & doppleganger of a DT.
 
Power give me more power.
That's about it

It may be asking for to much but I'd like to fight Mundus and have the DLC end with Vergil been defeated. That or he finds more power and becomes Nelo Angelo.

hey look everybody, its that guy that tries to ruin it for everybody else and start an internet fight due to his insecurities that he has to deal with in real life, and then he has to audacity to talk about grammar and spelling when there are no errors made, gotta love those people hiding behind a screen -_-

Woah calm down you. I didn't say anything personal or insulting. I just said stop making All Caps Thread Titles for pointless threads.

so who are you to decide what threads are pointless or not? i'm sorry, i didn't realize you were a moderator, oh wait no you're not, if you're rude i will be rude back plan and simple, and frankly, you having the audacity to try and tell me that my thread is useless is rude as hell
 
It's useless because there's already a thread for theories of DmC and speculation. There's actually 2 stickied right up the top.
