Seeing as some people here cannot cuddle up and get along with each other, I thought it might be best to explain about the Ignore Function in your User CP.

Some of you will already know how it works but to refresh your memory and for those who don't know, here's the lowdown:

To ignore someone for whatever reason, when all other attempts at getting along have failed etc, simply go to your User CP and select Edit Ignore List under Settings & Options in the navigation bar. Then you can type in the exact name of who it is you wish to ignore, select save and you're done.

But please bear in mind - opting to ignore can present certain problems in itself such as the inability to see whatever that person has posted, the inability to send/recieve PM's between yourself and that person and also that the person being ignored will have no idea why you are not regarding their posts when replying to a thread. You will, however, be able to see what is said if someone quotes that person. You can also remove someone from your ignore list at any time.

If someone seems to continually disregard your comments/posts in a thread, it may well be that they are unable to see what you are posting - not necessarily because they are trying to troll. Therefore consider this option when making your own posts and do not succumb to the temptation to flame them or you will have to bear the consequences of that.

Being on someone's ignore list is not necessarily a bad thing, particularly if the both of you tend to clash often, resulting in penalties which could have been avoided. However, if you have placed someone on ignore it is with the intention to not have anything to do with them for the time being so please do not ask others to post what that person has said because it defeats the object of ignoring them - if you react badly to what they have said after asking for someone to repeat it on their behalf, you will be held accountable for that.

Any questions/comments, please feel free to contact a member of staff :)

Adding to this because in light of recent squabbles, you guys might need a little definition and reminding:

The rules we have here about trolling/flaming/hate-filled posts etc apply to EVERYONE and to EVERY AREA OF THE BOARDS - not just the main posting areas so please re-familiarise yourselves with our rules if you aren't sure and if you happen to be the subject of a flame attack please just report it - don't enter into a mud-slinging contest.

FOR FLAMERS:
If you feel like having a verbal meltdown all over someone's profile because they posted something which upset/annoyed you or whatever, please try to hold back however deserving they may be of your anger. It'll only get you into trouble and it's honestly not worth the aggro. Report them if need be but otherwise make use of the ignore and block functions if you really cannot stand someone - these functions are there for your use to prevent problems.

FOR FLAMER TARGETS:
If you are someone who seems to attract flamers, take a step back and ask yourself honestly whether you are contributing in some way to such a hostile attitude. Are you posting spammy, trolling and/or unhelpful/snide comments? Are you being intentionally offensive with the aim to upset others? Have you been posting crap with the sole purpose of getting a response from someone, anyone, and then taking joy in reporting them for being abusive? If any of the above - or similar - apply to you, now might be a good time to stop.

FOR ALL:
Anyone who flames profiles will be warned either via a visitor message or PM. Then there will be a yellow card on your profile. Infractions will follow and finally a ban may be issued if you really cannot behave yourself. We don't want to do this so don't give us reason to. People suck, especially on the internet, so deal with it. But not by getting yourselves into a whole heap of trouble just because you need to have the last word. And a final note to those who may feel inclined to encourage a flame on their profile - don't try it. The staff will be able to tell if you are goading someone and rather than the flamer being penalised, you may well find yourself on the receiving end of an infraction.

Angel out :)
