Yup, no names from Akron, Ohio until pretty recently. They had a cult following, but this year they emerged into the mainstream with tons of commercials and television appearances.
what i don't understand is what everyone sees in their new sound.
example:
this is their older stuff. it's bluesy, raunchy, and awesome. outside of them and the (R.I.P.) white stripes, NOBODY made music like this any more.
and here's their newer stuff... the likes of which has outsold and outperformed their older music on just about every statistical basis known to man.
what am i missing? what does everyone see as superior in the latter video?
