Any game that allows you to focus on "improvised" melee (Mirror's Edge, the Halo Energy Swords, Mass Effect, and to a certain degree, Infamous 2 and Red Steel 2) is a game very much worth playing and remembering.

In any case, have you tried "The Test of Faith" on other games? If so, how difficult was it?

Edit:

Um... I kinda messed up and posted this in the wrong section. Would any of the staff mind moving it to "General Gaming"? Sorry.

And when I said, "in every game" I meant "every game you own," not "every game ever," lol.

You're referring to beating the game with only one type of weapon, or with a specific set only, right? I've done things like that with a couple of games I own. Tales of Symphonia, for example: I beat the game on hard mode using only the first weapons you get in the game, as well as the weakest equipment the game had to offer.

Naturally, this meant having to level them all up a lot more than what is required normally, when you gradually upgrade your weapons, armour, and such. ^^; In sum, I'm not doing it again, lol.

Ah, good point. I should've titled this thread, "Test of Faith & Handicaps". I'll do that now.

Also, I'm glad you went out of your way to play these games "the difficult way". It shows that you're willing to give certain games a second chance by putting limits on your character.

I have done similar things. I played through DMC1 with just the Force Edge. Let me tell you, that makes you really appreciate Alastor/Sparda's Stinger move. A lot.
Oh, definitely. Things like that separate the boys from the men. :sneaky:

Uh, in terms of gaming, I mean... also, it's just an expression. "The tough people from the not-so-tough." Better?

Right, so here are some "handicapped" vids -- watch the ones that suit you the most because each one is extremely long.

There's a gun set in Bayonetta that turns off the Wicked Weaves. Add that to the no Witch Time mode and the game gets significantly less forgiving.

That's a good point. Yeah, settings like that are what should be the norm for anyone who wants a 'real' challenge.
