Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
Hey guys!

I was wondering how you all enjoyed the demos? I don't have a PS3 or XBox 360 so I'd like to know a few things and try a few things;

1) Is it faster in your hands then watching it on the computer?
2.) How was it in terms of difficulty?
3.) Did you have fun?

Now for some things I wanted to ask;
1.) Jump canceling with arbiter
2.) Ariel Overdrive
3.) What does the select button do?
4.)Holding both triggers
5.) How's the lock on system?
6.) Does Rebellion play smoothly? (Most favorite weapon in DMC is standard swords)

These are tricks I was wondering can be done.

I probably won't be seeing the demo until I get an Xbox for Christmas, or getting the game itself so fill me in. Hell maybe one of my friends decided to check it out.^_^

Well let's start:
1.) It is pretty fast, I'd say nearly as fast as DMC3 but definetly faster than 4
2.) Difficulty?
Ain't so bad, but nothing an action game gamer can't handle.
3.) Did I have fun?
Hell yeah! I've had tons of fun^^

Jump Canceling is possible with the Arbiter, especially with its helm breaker variant.

Dunno what Ariel Overdrive is....

Select Button brings up the Item menu.
Holding both triggers does not have any effect as far as I know.
After getting used to it the lock on is not half bad, it definetly improved from what I've played at gamescom!
Rebellion plays like it should, with a little bit of Nero (the Roulette Spin) in it, so far I like it!

Sorry for the Short sentence... I'm pretty damn sleepy right now...

1) It's really fast... can't really compare it to other DMCs because most moves are different but it feels smooth and tight.
2) Son of Sparda was kinda hard for me because I could not figure out how to beat some of the enemies, once I did it got a bit easier... I managed to beat Underwatch and Secret Ingredient on SOS without dying.
3) I dare to say that the gameplay doesn't feel, or lives up to DMCs standards, but a hell of a lot of fun nonetheless. Once you make a scheme of the controls on your head everything just flows.

1) I have been practicing jump canceling with the arbiter, and it is possible. It's just hard because you gotta let go of the trigger very quickly to press the jump button.
2) No such thing...
3) What Erian said
4) Holding both triggers does nothing. It just takes the one you press later as the priority. For example, if you are pressing the Angel trigger and then you press the Demon one on top of it, Dante goes into Demon Stance.
5) Lock on is tight and works really well. You definitely feel it the moment you start playing the game... especially if you try to shoot E&I (even without there being any enemies around).
6) Rebellion plays great. I love the stinger and the pause combo is so beast because it works as crowd control and gives a lot of style meter.

I had lots of fun with it, but the combos are not as easy to do as you think. I went in with combos that I planned to do that I saw others do on youtube. I can tell you first hand that it is pretty hard to do some really flashy stuff

Yep. I figured it was easy but once you have the controller in your hands, you end up putting your fingers in a knot. I've gotten to do most of the combos that some people have shown on youtube, but yeah, it's not so easy. I actually think it was easier to do regular combos in DMC3/4 than it is in DmC. With emphasis on "regular" of course.

Best player I have seen so far is that dude that posting the video of him beating Son of Sparda mode. It's just the first day and that guy is better than most people I have seen playing from Capcom and Ninja Theory.

Btw, he does some Arbiter cancels in his vid.

You dont have to let go of the trigger to jump cancel in the demon stance. You have to in the angel stance since it makes u dash.

I don't think I've seen that video, but if he really is that good, then he either played the game at some convention, or he has just played continuously since it came out

1) It's damn fast. The demon/angel pull makes the game very fast even without jump cancel. Also delay-weapon change combos and aerial dodges makes it stylish than ever!

2) when your stylish rank enters S the fast gameplay accelarates further, and in harder modes the enemies vary and the AI becomes more intelligent so it makes you harder to kill them swifty.
I hate flying enemies! I can't make fast disposal of them with me favorite axe! And please don't dodge my whip as it was nothing. lol

3) It's was a good gaming experience. Good music, nice characters, stylish top-action with difficulty! I want to see what the hell happens in DMD.

1. It was very fast-paced. Got my heart pumping--well, half of it was from nostalgia. But it was very quick thanks to some awesome camera-work, music, and Dante himself.

2. Hard? Not, really, but if you're trying to pull off some flashy combos, good luck. It took me a long while to figure out how to do Trillion Stab. That, and I got confused once in a while. I wanted to do a Demon Pull, but did Angel Pull instead. Sometimes I wanted to use Arbiter, but used Rebellion, or even Osiris. Sometimes I wanted to shoot, but i did one of the Pulls. A few combos were done, and I had no idea how I pulled them off.

Still, the controls are very tight, so it's my fault, really.

And Poison is sort of a beesh to beat.

3. I am gonna buy this on day one for sure.

My answers:
1.Not really
2.Easy, SoS wasn't hard in my opinion.
3. Got bored easily on the second run.

1.Meh.
2.No such thing
3. What others are saying.
4. Does absolutely nothing.
5. No such thing, your swinging freely and it seems to easy to and erratic to kill others.
6. Not as smooth or fluid as anyone thinks.

1) Definitely faster.
2.) Easier, but not so easy to master imho. It took me time to get the hang of it.
3.) YES.

Now for some things I wanted to ask;
1.) Haven't tried it.
5.) Almost every move is a crowd control one. You spin around and you only have to worry about getting out of THEIR line of attack. That said, I could easily control the Rebellion and Arbiters focused attacks.
6.) It does. I actually really like using the pause combo and switch to the Osiris end of it. It's a charm.

I really hope that the further you progress that there would be more single weapon combos. I know the emphasis is largely on switching around mid combo (which I had a ton of fun with) but I would like more uses for the Arbiter. Though I did find it useful to launch enemies with it at lift myself up to them in Nephilim and SoS.

1) Faster? I guess that's the word. Yeah,it is. There is a huge difference from what you see and how it actually performs.
2) Not as hard as I remember. The enemies are not as though once you get a hang of things. The first time I played I was plagued by old habits like trying to use lock on and taunts. Now, though, I am brezzing through it with out any real chalange.
3) Yeah... I remember been more exiting at the Con but now it's lost some of it's edge. Still good, though.

1) I don't do jump cancel. Sorry.
2) Haven't pulled it off.
3) Items.
4) Nothing as far as I know, I did try, though.
5) Fair. It's as good as other games.
6 Plays well. It's a good set up.

Personally I still think DMC3 has the best combat in the series but this a definite improvement over 4.

been playing it for four to five hours will play more later ehh
1)no idea
2)initially a bit difficult due to adjusting to the control scheme but now that i'm adjusted ehh SoS a bit challenging , enemies block, here and there and smart AI i guess, ehhh specific weapon type monsters make it more challenging different tactics , a bit sad about that as less variety in combos but offers a challenge when having to be careful of two different elemental types
3) yes but want enemies to have more health , they die too fast for me , as love doing long combo strings hopefully that'll be better in DMD , still want to play more and explore the combat system

second part:
1)as the video states yes
2)?
3)items
4)sadly nothing at the moment
5)works for the most part
6) well okay , since rebellion range and can work in combos easily as only way to cancel trillion stab into launcher still works
overall its been fun , though wished arbiter had a bit more moves as you can charge the osiris into a launcher and rebellion into drive , fun using one stance into another , been trying to incorporate charge shots but only able to charge in rebellion stance ehh, demon pull, and demon lift can make you stay in the air forever , ehh you can get enemies to kill each other if you time it right.and the scenery has some awesome effects here and there.. thus its been quite good, maybe on another day gonna try to incorporate the entire movelist in one combo, ehhh maybe do an only air challenge , see if any other combat mechanics i can use, been trying to see if i can do angel rave ->Star Rave from DMC4 but not good enough to do that and its wierd to do that with the controls , but in the end the demo keeps bringing me back as its too fun for me at least
PS. Really Missing that taunt button

For those of you who are not sure about 'aerial overdrive', it simply means 'can you perform the drive move when you are in air?'
