Let's rock, baby!
I wonder this time they'll make a story about Sparda in the later games. In either 4 or 6.

What do you think?

Cause Dante can learn stuff more about his father in some journals.

No, because this kind of prequel can be screwed up a lot easier than it can be done correctly. Just look at Star Wars, is anyone happier now that they know Darth Vader's past?

I personally believe Sparda is cooler as a mystery than as an answer.

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even before the reboot, I was against a Sparda game because there was no need for a prequel. Keep Sparda mysterious, just like the Joker from Batman, we will like him more.
Now, a 6 mission Sparda DLC (just like the Vergil DLC) would be much better. All I would want it to show is how Sparda was defeated by Mundus, not necessarily reveal too much about him, just that how he lost.

This. Wasn't that the main purpose of the character back in the original games to begin with? His past was left to be a deliverate mystery both for the player and the characters. It'd beat the purpose to explain all of his past like that.

Naw, Sparda should stay a mystery.

That's pretty much one of the best things about him; he's a legend and fans are free to make fanfics and think about how his life was.

Not a specific title dedicated to sparda but maybe a few more bits and pieces about him scattered throughout the game(or dlc) like hidden things. The game itself would give a general background about him while the extras give a a little bit more, not enough to ruin the mystery part though.

When a character is only know as a legend, it's incredibly difficult for a story to live up to people's interpretations and expectations. I'd say no.

Wonder where is his prized shield is...it would be very interesting if the story revolved instead of his sword. That is rebellion in this series.

As everyone else said, he should stay a legend and not have his own game in my opinion.

Would ruin his legendary and badazz character if you ask me.

Its one of the reasons why when I found out he may be alive in DmC that I said I hope he gets killed off during the game.

Not because I don't like him, but because I want him to remain a mysterious legend who's past isn't fully fleshed out in a game.

It'd be interesting if that was the reason for that shell of energy that appears when you parry someone, like, it's the magic of the shield or something.

I've always wanted to see a Sparda game, but the above posters have given me something to think about, when it comes to Sparda's legend being better as a mystery. So I think a Sparda DLC and/or tie in novel about a specific period in his life (such as before the war, or the events leading up to him being away when Mundus came for his family) would be better. Play with the mystery a little, give us something more to chew on, but don't detail it.

Read the book versions of episodes I, II & III. They are great, especially III.
...
I am happy, 'sides they are not THAT bad, much better than the new Indiana Jones or the last three Harry Potter movies (excluding DH part2)

I'd also want to see the expanded universe in movies ...

The only problem with Sparda's story is the lack of source material...
