So lets assume DmC2 is on its way. *Vergil's downfall spoilers*

AlastorSword

“Must not sleep... must warn others."
At the end of Vergil's downfall we see Vergil marching with his new hoards of demon minions.

So I was wondering how they would handle Nelo Angelo (assuming that's what he's turned to with the full achieving the complete force of his Nephilim powers) in DmC2. Would he be the main antagonist? Would he have a separate story? Would he share the badguy role with someone else possibly?

Your thoughts?

He gets laid and we have nero.....Nah...Jus kidding.....:P

Actually, I would like to have a thread to explain whatever is going on in VD. Firstly, Eva says "You're dead". Then there are dante's episodes. But if we paid attention, we find hollow version of dante as there is hollow version of vergil in limbo. And it is the hollow dante that vergil kills(if anything going on in VD is real). But these episodes sound similar to when dante finds blue rose where he enters a dream world and gets abilities in a real world. This dream world isn't limbo i guess cuz when i found first blue rose, dante was already in limbo and there was no rift necessary. Blue rose activates this dream world but it does not seem like a physical transition like the rift. So I would like to analyze VD's episodes and explain what the hell is going on???

I only watched cutscenes and didn't actually play through DmC. So Pardon me, if all of this is already explained.

could be all three since he could have a playable story mode whether or not he is the main antagonist. It works better if he isnt but watching him fight against the good guys could be fun.

Vergil was on the verge of death after his battle with Dante, and he collapsed on Eva's grave. After that, he's seen falling through Hell, and then we end up inside Vergil's head as he deals with...all of his own sh!t. Hollow Vergil represents Vergil's baser emotions and desires, almost like his Id. He goads Vergil into severing emotional and familial ties by killing Kat, Dante, and turning his back on Eva. Then, Vergil attacks Hollow Vergil and steals his amulet, turning him into Vergeta ( :p). The point was that he lost to his brother, and Hollow Vergil got him to believe that it was because Vergil still held fast to his connections, and if he ever wanted to become stronger to achieve his goals and no longer be impeded by Dante, he'd need to forget those connections.

With his newfound power, Vergil escapes Hell (because he's a Nephilim, he can do that) and wakes up on Eva's grave a new, more sinister man. Demons appear, and seeing his power, swear fealty to him.

Vergil's Downfall was essentially the last bits of humanity and compassion that Vergil had being cut away in his subconscious. When he awoke, he was essentially classic Vergil - totally selfish and single-mindedly following his own goals.

-------------------

I was gonna mention some ideas I had that might show up in my writing but...then that be solidifying things I don't quite want to yet >_<

i think vergil would be under the guise of nelo angelo, and he would be acting as a leader to demons and humans, and convincing humans to surrender their humanity in order to become demons. dante would see through this and confront nelo, only to discover that nelo was vergil the whole time *insert dramatic music here*. there is an altercation where vergil kills dante and dante finds sparda. they come back to the land of the living and vergil kills sparda when he tries to speak reason to vergil. dante and vergil have another battle where vergil ends up committing suicide rather than surrendering to dante and humanity.

Guess he may be coming back as Nelo Angelo, but not necessarily. After all, this Vergil we see at the end of VD seems more like NT's version of DMC3 Vergil to me, than Nelo Angelo's version. Maybe Nelo Angelo could be Vergil's new Devil Trigger form?
In any case, Vergil seems to have just gained the role of the main antagonist for the next game. He will probably come back to fight Dante out of revenge.

Easy enough to write a plot for this.

In the next game, we focus on two plots that eventually intertwine at random intervals.
We follow Dante as he struggles to combat a new hoard of godless demons who eventually start to organize into small demonic gangs, waging war with themselves as Dante tries to take out this new criminal-demon infrastructure that is terrorizing the whole Earth. Meanwhile, Dante must also investigate the strange disappearance of the angels, and also who his mother was exactly, leaving a trail of clues that gets him closer to Sparda.

The second story focuses on Vergil, laying low. With his new followers, he slowly assembles a new organization with his leadership skills. Then, he infiltrates the criminal-demon underworld (which I mean figuratively) and rises through the ranks to finally become their rightful god.

Also, about the Nelo Angelo thing...
Vergil is not by any means Nelo Angelo yet. Nelo was an entirely different force of demonic power. Vergil is still Vergil, but has finally evolved to his next demonic state, as Dante has.

If they attempt Nelo Angelo, they'll need to be clever about it. I'd say it shouldn't be attempted until Dante and Vergil's rivalry or feud comes to it's end, with either Dante or Vergil standing as the victor.

I naturally assume Vergil will do what castiel did in Supernatural and try to become the new god of the humans, going around killing those who did not follow and worship him like Castiel did. Vergil will claim to be the new god of the world and go on a killing spree with the belief that he is the true ruler of the world and all who inhabit it.

Dante will most likely act as the person who will have to kill him soon, but will at the same time try and convince him that he's doing the wrong thing and try and turn him good again.

VERGIL:
-Vergil announces his role as the new DemonKing. There is a short handful of battles with stronger demons, as well as a few FallenAngels for the title. But Vergil is victorious, and takes up the name Nelo Angelo for his leadership.
-He starts going from city to city in search of followers, killing anyone who doesn't surrender.

HUMANS/ANGELS:
-Those who appose Vergil ban together under the Angels creating a new society called " The Order."
-Nero and Lucia are two experiments created by the order to kill the Nephilim.

DANTE:
-Dante being hunted by the Angels has only one goal: To stop Vergil from killing innocents and creating more Demons.
-Eventually some Angels and Humans realize Dante is nothing like Vergil and begin to work with him.
