I'm just some guy who really like Devil May Cry
Now i know were all excited about DmC with it being just one short coma away from being in our eager hands. some of us have already played and finished it. there are spoilers flying around the interwebs and this site. but i think its fitting we say goodbye to the old Dante. to some an idol, others a hero. we can all agree he was an icon of the series. and will be sorely missed. im not hating, just saying good bye. and invite you all to join me:

but all is not lost my friends for it seems his spirit and im doing this my way attitude lives on in the new dante. a young rebelious (slightly immature) young man. who brings the series to a new direction.

I don't really think that Capcom will forget about the original Dante just like that, They just can't.
Capcom has just put him as a character in one of it's recent games (Project X Zone)
And they released an HD Collection of the original series in 2012.

I'm pretty sure that Capcom knows what they're doing, They can't just get rid of the original Dante that easy, Gotta get that money and make a new DMC game :)

Dante's appearance gets changed a little in every installment so I'm expecting new Dante to be more like old Dante in the next game. Now that they got back the hype they (capcom) I think they will slowly revert back to the old Dante. I'm quite sure that the people at capcom also miss the badass white haired demon hunter.

aye i agree and SPOILER: i think now the demon world has united with the human one Dante we can see the events leading to Dante opening Devil May Cry as now Demon hunters are much wanted. Vergil will want to gain aboslute power for X and thus awesomeness was born

From my point of view the real Dante still reads books with Nero in Fortuna Castle or something.
I won't associate ''DmC Dante'' with our old good friend.

Dante was the baby of Kamiya, Mikami and all the rest of the team who have long ago left Capcom and burned all bridges. Dante as we knew him is a memory fresh for abuse like so much On-Disc DLC and incomplete beat'emup releases.

Remember our old friend, see what was right and wrong about him, and move on to greener pastures.

There's just so much a witty writer with a good sense of horror could do with Classic Devil May Cry. Could you imagine if they got someone like Neil Gaiman to write a hypothetical DMC5? That would rock your bollocks off.

Oh god, and they should pull Ryuhei Kitamura out of his dumpster and get him to conceptualize/choreograph...and Akira Yamaoka to score it...

...I'll be in my bunk...

Ah, Kamiya's Dante wasn't that great of a character, I always thought Itusno's version of Dante (DMC3-4) were the best.

That would be great if competent studio would take care of gameplay.

Edit
CheeseKao - Thanks for pointing my mistake. I forgot to put word "studio" in tha sentence.

For example Vigil Games and Platinum Games. At least these studios made decent action games in comparison to Ninja Theory.
