Duty equipment:
Weapons:
Enfield L85: A bullpup assault rifle both developed and largely in commission by the British military, weighing in at 5kg the Enfield is the heaviest of all available assault rifles found in The Zone, as such, its accuracy suffers somewhat, it does however feature higher than average stopping power per shot and holds fairly decent reliability.
It is one of the only assault rifles available that features a fitted, medium range 4x zoom by default, the firing modes open to it take full advantage of this, sporting a single shot, three shot burst or fully automatic firing mode.
It features a 30 round magazine.
Chaser 13: An American pump action CQB shotgun featuring a 6 round clip, low accuracy and very high stopping power at close range, it was primarily employed for door breaching operations and now finds common use among Duty officials as a rough and tumble, highly efficient and very reliable weapon for those who prefer their firefights more up close and personal.
Walther P99: The Walther P99 is a highly accurate and extremely effective sidearm sporting one of the highest degrees of stopping power in all pistols available in The Zone, it has a moderate armour piercing effective, high reliability and a very stable aim, a sidearm often favoured by those fighting in The Arena, the most efficient users have been able to win rounds before emptying even 6 of the 12 shots loaded in the magazine with precise, long range shots to the skull, quite a fearsome sidearm and one so favoured that it is even issued as standard to Duty’s new recruits.
Armour:
PSZ-9d Suit: The PSZ is a simple and reliable suit, however, due to the new materials used in its production and manufacture, it proves to be much more effective at offering good protection against various impacts, including firearm damage. This defensive armour still needs some work however, as it lacks a breathing protection system to protect against harsh environments, as well as a basic night vision unit.
Freedom equipment:
Weapons:
Dragunov SVD: The SVD is the standard weapon of the long range division of the Freedom army, a high powered rifle that is extremely effective at piercing bulletproof vests at long range, it is incredibly accurate at a range of up to 600 meters, beyond that, it begins to lose its stopping power. It features a 10 round, square removable clip, an adjustable scope and an optional silencer attachment. However, due to the nature of the rounds fired, silencers only tend to have a life expectancy of approximately two full clips before wearing out entirely.
It is a highly reliable, durable rifle that only jams on very rare occasions, usually after months, even years of little to no service, a fearsome rifle indeed.
Dragunov SVU: A rifle very similar to the SVD in purpose, however, it differs in design by being a much smaller rifle of bullpup design, it features a 20 round clip and an effective range of 300 meters, it was initially designed as a replacement for the SVD, yet due to the sheer difference in design, capacity, stopping power, accuracy and effective range, it became a different classification of weapon entirely.
Formerly found in use by Spetsnaz SWAT teams, it now finds significant use within the mid range division of Freedom’s army, due to the fact that it features a semi automatic, as well as a fully automatic fire mode.
AN Akaban:
The AN Akaban is a rifle that finds common use among the members of Freedom who choose to forego the Sniper’s creed, members of Freedom who use the AN Akaban prove to play an effective supporting role for their long range sniping divisions.
The Akaban is a remodelled variant of the traditional AK-47, it features a faster firing rate, larger clip clocking it at 40 per clip, three fire modes varying from single shot, three shot burst and fully automatic, it features similar reliability to the original AK, that is, it very rarely jams, however it has a relatively low stopping power, poor accuracy and generally rather high recoil, not an ideal weapon, but one that saw the most use by the original Ukraine military and is therefore the most commonly found assault rifle in the Freedom Army Warehouses.
Walther P99: The exact same variant as the one issued by Duty, for more information, see the Duty description.
Armour:
Wind of Freedom Suit: This suit is a lightweight armour made up of a light, standard issue bulletproof vest and smaller Kevlar plates, it is designed primarily for use by Freedom’s sniper division, as the lightweight nature of the suit affords significant manoeuvrability, as well as this, the reduced weight allows for extended periods of running, it is for this reason that Freedom Snipers are renowned for being “Ghosts in the wind”, being able to move in, hide, take a shot and run before anyone even knows they were there.
The Wind of Freedom suit also features two oxygen tanks and a breathing protection unit in order to defend against harsh environments, something that the standard Duty suit lacks.
Guardian of Freedom Suit: A suit designed for the users of the AN Akaban, it is a suit reinforced with a heavy, non-standard bulletproof vest as well as thick Kevlar plates, it is much heavy than the Wind variant, affording less manoeuvrability and reduced periods of running, the armour however is able to withstanding extended periods of mid range fire from small arms weaponry, such as low calibre assault rifles like the Duty Enfield or the AK-47, however, the armour piercing effect of the Walther P99 is more than enough to piercing the Kevlar plates and bulletproof vest.
Loner equipment:
Weapons:
Note: The Loner’s equipment is comparatively weak when taken with the Duty and Freedom standard issue equipment, however, this is because that the Loners live off the land and do not have the same advantages as Duty or Freedom.
However this will become less of an issue when the Loners earn more money and travel to Rostok, where they are freely able to trade with Barkeep, indulging themselves in some of the lower end Duty equipment.
AK-47:
The AK-47 is a traditional, reliable assault rifle that is commonly sold on the black market, it features a 30 round clip, low accuracy, reasonably high stopping power and low recoil, it is also renowned for being an incredibly reliable weapon, used by even Veteran Loner Stalkers due to how cheap and effective it is. It never jams and features the three standard firing modes.
It can also mount a 2x zoom scope should an appropriate model be found.
H&K MP5:
The H&K MP5 is a popular, commonly found sub-machine gun with a high fire rate, 30 round clip, low accuracy and high recoil, it is cheap to purchase and incredibly common to find on the bodies of Bandits, as well as in supply stashes.
It is a fairly reliable weapon, only jamming on the odd occasion, the major drawback is this weapon’s incredibly low accuracy, it is only ever true to where you aim on the first shot, every other shot after that will deviate quite greatly from the initial point of aim, which is why most wielders fire in three shot bursts to minimise effective spread and increase stopping power.
Makarov 12:
The Makarov 12 is a compact, lightweight and accurate pistol, is features an 8 round clip and ammo for it is commonly found, being the most abundant in The Zone, it comes in at just under 1kg, making it the lightest available pistol, however it is extremely weak, has comparatively high recoil when taken against the Walther P99 and is unreliable, jamming often.
It is recommended that you find a more efficient sidearm as soon as possible.
Armour:
Mercenary Suit:
A lightly armoured suit covered in bullet resistant fibres, like the Freedom Wind suit, it allows for extended periods of running and high manoeuvrability, the lightweight nature of the suit grants Loners a much needed advantage, the ability to carry more salvaged equipment without being weight down to the point that they are unable to run, this suit is the reason that freshly starting Loners end up being so well off so fast, because they are able to horde numerous rifles, piles of ammo and side arms in their backpacks before being over encumbered.
