Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
Let's look back on the process of DmC. And by that I mean the trailers, and it's rise from most hated, to "Hey, not bad!"
2010 TGS

2011 E3

2011-2012 "Special" trailer

2012 "Public enemy"

Funny, huh? We first hate this game, now it's suprising us, considering from where it started.

It's been a positive experience to see the game evolve. I never hated the game, but I was very skeptic at first. The latest trailer has really gotten me excited about it though. ^^

I have hated the first trailer but when i see the 2011 trailer,i've become a skeptic.
Now,i'm really waiting for this game to come out!

I liked the 2010 trailer. It presented an awesome idea of a possibly homicidally insane Dante.
But the new trailers show him as very ruthless, and even scary at times.

I loved it from the start lol

When they reconfirmed about the torture parts I was like *___________________*

Yeah, me too.
I was on the barriers defending this game from day one.
Funny to see all those hypocrites take a U-turn now and claiming they liked it all along. Well, I know better.

The game's pretty damn nice now, but there's still a long way to go.
I can't wait to see it match (or maybe surpass) the original series in many areas.

I liked it until the latest trailer. I liked the action, but not the fact that the New Dante had to be so much like the Old Dante.

Tbh I really haven't changed my stance on the game since seeing the first snippets/rumours to the concept work to this latest trailer.

I guess I must just be extremely fussy, because it hasn't grown on me over time, and I expected it might. But it hasn't.

No matter how great their hands-on experience with the game was, notice how reluctant previewers are with dishing out comparative praise. It's like they really don't want to suggest such a thing is possible and truthfully, no one will... if they know whats good for them

The first trailer made me furious the first few times I watched it. And then I showed my cousin, who really knows nothing about video games, and she said that it doesn't look so bad. So I watched it again with a sort of outsider's point of view and I figured, "Hey, maybe this could be interesting". So I just kept following whatever I can about the game. When the second trailer came out, I was optimistic, but still a little skeptic. By the "Don't Mess With A God" trailer, I was nearly sold. The latest trailer made me fall in love with it. Now I can't wait to see more about the game and maybe one day play it.

You guys liked TGS 2010 trailer?

Yeah, I did. Even though I loved DMC4, I was tired of the clown Dante became. I thought a young but serious (and slightly insane) Dante would be refreshing. The new trailers also still show him in a similar fashion to the previous trailers, just with more dialogue.

I loved the first trailer, the atmosphere it presented was fantastic. Dante being tortured and putting all the rage he kept with him in his fight, torturing the demons and stuff, and the "WHAT IS YOUR NAME" part was just brilliant! I completely loved it, I loved it since Ninja Theory's logo appeared on the screen.

The only difference is that at first I thought "well, the combat will probably suck now, but all the rest will surely be a lot better, can't wait for another storytelling masterpiece by Ninja Theory", but then with E3 trailer, my mind was blown when I saw all those old moves back, the Devil Trigger was awesome, and I thought "maybe even the combat will be good?", and then The Fight, The Secret and The Escape came out, and not only the combat looked fantastic, but the game was beautiful.

I also loved the original DMC series, but I guess I just didn't care enough about the story to give a **** about "omg they're changing Dante and rebooting the story!". For me it was more like "it had a story? I always thought the cutscenes were only there so you could rest a bit before more crazy combat"

Yes, I liked DMC4. The combat was excellent and I enjoyed switching from Nero to Dante. The puzzles were good too. But that's not the point of this thread.

You liked Nero, I sincerely hope you are talking about the real main character of DMC4, Nero's arm.
