In the game's reveal trailer, a woman and her robot dog (sidenote: I want a robot dog!) trek across a desert wasteland, eventually coming into contact with aggressive robotic enemies.
As noble robot dogs are wont to do, the woman's companion jumps into the fray and sacrifices itself to defeat the enemy force, leaving behind its power core. The woman grabs this glowing blue orb and places it into a new, larger robot, which activates and shakes awake. Hooray! The dog dies, but it doesn't at the same time. We can spare our tears.
