So after going through some of the concept art in DmC, I can't help but to feel like Ninja Theory missed an opportunity to make Rebellion an iconic weapon much like its original counterpart.
I mean they have some fantastic designs for it, and they didn't use any of them!

Just look at how cool some of these look:

How do you guys feel about Rebellion's final design? Do you wished Ninja Theory would've used one of the designs above? And if so which one? Personally I like the one on the far left on the 4th and 5th pic.

What creeped me out the most was the concept art for Dante. The straps on him, cig in mouth, no shirt, and his devil trigger being souls coming up, he looked more demonic than..well..anyone in the entire series. Literally gave me a nightmare or two about it. I do like the souls coming up from under him though, but that smile and everything else...yeah no sleep for me.
Anyways, the first pic would of been a great Rebellion! I saw that and loved it more than the original.
Also where is the concept arts for Vergil? I saw it before, but I lost it no matter how much I try to searc- oh wait it's in the credits. NEVERMIND.

Haha yeah suspenders Dante was pretty creepy!
But yeah I just can't figure out why Ninja Theory picked the design for Rebellion they did when they have so many better ones!
And sorry I only put Rebellion concept art in this thread.

No need, I'd rather gain them all myself xD There was some pretty cool Dante concepts, except most of his awesome animations were in the credits..oh well.
You didn't accept my friend request on xbox, sir. >:c

Yeah I really like the concept arts of Dante! I haven't unlocked all of them yet, but my favorite one thus far is the one I have as my avatar. Dante with reaper hood ftw!
And oh snap I didn't realize you sent me one, I shall accept it right away. :)

I don't have a favorite concept art of him, yet..
so far my favorite fanart is the one in my picture xD
 
Interesting. They all look cooler than what NT finally went with, but all the ones near the bottom, where they integrate the skull head from the original Rebellion design are best, to me. They made it look even more wicked.

I would have LOVED that look for Dante!

I love the concepts in this game but in my opinion the final Rebellion design is still awesome

i think its because rebellion is more like a blunt weapon with this dante, you see the ones that have a slit going down the middle? i can't really see that forming very well in the cutscenes when it fades out of his tattoo
 
Probably something along the lines of "simplicity is better" is what NT thought about when picking the weapon designs. Shame the weapons don't look as cool as it feels like when you use them. Which is not saying the weapons look awful. The overall look is consistant on all of them and they fulfill the "magic weapon" function without going to JRPG levels, but there's definitely nothing memorable about them either.
