Yes, I would. I wouldn't even call it a ripoff of the Devil May Cry series because I think everything is inspired by something. I also think that more Assassin's Creed-like games should be out there, too. I wouldn't call out the "copiers" like Sabotage, either. Everyone has a right to make whatever game they want...as long as it's just different enough. I mean, no reason to play the same game twice, I guess.
of course i would. sure the main charicter has weird hairstyle and hygene issues but he definitly knows how to fight. so far the only major problem i could think of with the DmC and the new Dante is that they are replacing Devil May Cry and the original Dante. it would be better as a new IP because their would be no real downside to buying it. buying DmC risks convincing capcom that its better than the original ( i'm still planning on buying DmC ( it looks like a cool game) and hoping for the best)
Nope. I probably would have overlooked it and only discovered it in a random dusty box of our game store as they get rid of 'the old junk' in about 15 years from now.
I'm a DMC fangirl through and through. ^_^
It depends on the marketing strategy the people behind it would use. If they were aggressive and made sure we got to see that this game is out and it's gameplay is somewhat like DMC, then I would be intruiged.
However, if they would go on more passive about it, then I might not even notice that the game is out. Then I wold probably get told by a third party that there's this game that is somewhat like DMC, like, 3 years after it's actually published. XD
That's what it is all about. To get people's attention to the game. If they don't get it, they won't be able to sell very well, especially not if it was a whole new title of a whole new franchise.
That it is a Devil May Cry game gives it immediate attention from people who knows the title name... And it turns out that it actually did! Negative or positive doesn't matter, it got attention.
