Question fro a katana nerd. (yamato)

DragonMaster2010

Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall
So, I was watching mission 19 again via walkthrough, and me being the katana nerd I am, I usually look at every detail of a katana, and I noticed a few interesting things about yamato.

1: Yamato's blade seems to be longer the the sheath because the rainguard is poking out of it. I usually worried that the katana could potentially slip out, but its also easier to draw that way.

2: If you look closely at the sheath when Vergil says "Come on, Dante." You can see some strange cloud like yellow insignia on the front of it. If anyone can do a close up of that to see what it is, id appriticate it.

3: The tsuba (guard) is a lot smaller, almost seemingly like a shirasaya (guardless cane sword)

That's all from me though.

Also if anyone can get a pic of his sword the way it is when he says "come on Dante" I'd really appritiate it.

You might be the right person to ask; was Vergil drawing his sword from his sheath backwards? Like when you see him readying his sword to fight Dante, it looks like it should be flipped, but he always draws his sword out holding it just like that. Been bugging the crap out of me.

You're actually not suppose to draw like that for two reasons:

1: Your hand could get cut as you draw the sword because the shard end is up.

2: It's a bit awkward to draw your sword that way because you basically drawing it downward and thus, leaving yourself wide open for attack.

yah-muh-toe
I swear that "ya-mah-toe" is the correct pronunciation. "Ya-matte-toe" is weird to hear, kind of like hearing "nah-fink" instead of "nah-thing". Oh well, can't do much with accents.

God forbid we hear: "ya-mah-tuh", "ya-matte-tuh", "yaam-ah-toe", "yam-ah-toe", "yam-ah-tuh", "yaam-ah-tuh" or anything else worse. There are accents and then there are complete incorrect pronunciations.

When Vergil's Downfall is released, hopefully we can analyze these things in much more detail.
