Hey guys I was recently reading an article where it outlined the fact that nobody knows about this DmC since it's debut trailer and everyone has forgotten about it. Do you guys believe this is true? It seems they are really putting a lot into marketing and even if you don't give a damn about DmC one way or another you've at least likely seen the name and maybe a brief snippet of it.

Capcom didn't put a lot of marketing into DmC. They mainly focused on Resident Evil 6 to suceed, and put a lot of time and marketing into that, and but half for DmC. DmC however, is a lot more popular then DMC thanks to all the mad fanboys, and the fact that some peole like controversies.

I don't think the game is unpopular. It's actually infamous. It'll probably stay as the game everyone loves to hate.
Though, I really wish this wasn't true, and I'd like to think more and more people have changed their minds after playing that awesome demo.

Whether infamous or famous for different matters, this game has already more popularity than any other DMC had. Fans know of it, and many who aren't fans but always wanted to get into the series do as well since this is a great chance to start fresh.

Hmm...I don't think it's unpopular because it has a 4.5 rating in PSN store.
But I must admit that if people didn't touch the demo, I think they will be put-off.
(I was quite astonished to see after an hour, a on-air player actually began to say Dante is cool after he was making fun of him the first 5 minutes.)

Yep, I think the demo has converted a few souls to at least wait for the final version before judging it so early on before release. A little bit of faith in humanity... has been restored... ^_^

None of my friends really ever knew about DMC in the first place till they noticed I was playing it once. With the demo released for DmC and me playing it my friends haven't even batted an eyelid and presumably just thought "Cool, he's playing one of those DMC games he likes". Considering these are people that are very into gaming and usually keep up to date on what's going on I would say advertisement has been pretty weak compared to what it could have been.
Maybe mainstream titles have drowned it out for now. Meaning come January big title launches are out the way allowing easier advertisement.

More importantly its 4.5 stars out of FREAKING 2000+ PEOPLE. This game is definitely infamous but for silliest reasons (that debut trailer mainly).

Things We must learn from the past.

1. There is no such thing as bad publicity.
2. Controversy sparks interest amongst mass.
3. A quality product that undergoes 1 n 2 has a shot at becoming a phenomenon.

I guess this is what capcom was aiming at. When they said that the dark Knight was their inspiration it might have meant on several levels. Tdk too went through the same thing. Remember the 'omg Ledger is gay he might just start humping batman.'? We all know how that went. That movie went through those three things too. I I guess by now everybody agrees this is the most talked about the DmC in the franchise. Over 9000 videos regarding reception to Dante are swarming the net. I this surely must have reached the non dmc fans. That and the fact that it's a reboot would surely draw their attention as they can now catch up to it now. I they surely wouldn't mind testing a demo. Result? Result? 2000+ people rating it 4.5. Which is phenomenal if you consider the hate this game has been receiving. This was well thought. Dmc is getting a major overhaul Brace yourselves... A storm is coming.
