Poem: Jolt

“Jolt”

Jump, dash, sprint
Away from here as fast as possible
Trapped
How can I get out of this prison?
I can’t
Not until the feeling passes
Like all those times before

Lightning crackles outside
Or was it inside?
Does Lightning fear?
Can something as powerful as Lightning be afraid?
Yes
For why else
Does it come down from the sky
It fears the thunder as the clouds crash together
It flees from the rage in the sky

Why?
Why should something as strong as Lightning be afraid?
And why should I?
