Son Of Sparda Is Back
so I'm basically trying to avoid any spoilers by not reading the achievements list BUT in every other threads some guy/girl comes out of the blue and spoils something about the game

i created this thread to ask you guys/girls , PLEASE don't spoil anything in other non-spoil threads and talk about achievements in it's own thread

Thank You

While I agree with the topic's idea, there was no need to create it.

I mean, common sense says that people should respect others, by not posting vital info or spoilers regarding the game.

On the other side, there are people and people. Every place has at least someone who loves spoiling things out for the sake of trolling. There are also people who actually spoil things by accident ( even some critics spoil things sometimes). Even though that's wrong, will you risk being spoiled? My advice is avoiding the forum, just for your own sake.

That's what I usually do with movies ( avoiding imdb and so on), only coming back after watching it.

Also note that some people ( from Press) have acess to the first 10 missions of the game. It's a matter of time until things start appearing more than ever. I mean, That's a lot of possible spoilers coming soon...

For example, one of the people who already played 10 missions. What if that person creates an account and starts spoiling things? Is that right? Hell no! Could that happen? Hell yeah!

I'm really crazy to play DmC, but I don't care with spoilers. The achievement list said a lot, but at the same time didn't say anything. It's like saying who, but no saying how. The ending of the game wasn't leaked, though some characters were. However, I'm sure there won't be any surprise here after the release. Everybody really knows who the main villain is, critics already said it and trailers also show it. The question is how such thing happens. That's what we still have to know.

So, I think we'll be ok with whataver gets released in the future, BUT if you're one of the guys who loves surprise, then it's really important taking care with the forum. Well, not only here, but with reviews and critics also.

Sorry for the long post, but it's really interesting to discuss about such subject. :)

This issue was covered briefly in another thread, but unfortunately it does, to a degree, come down to having common sense - as a poster and reader. The following guidelines can help too, but only if everyone adheres to them:

The most ideal way is to white-out your text so that the only way to read it is by highlighting it. It's really easy to do - type out your words and then before hitting post, highlight all the spoilers contained. Next, select the button with a capital A on it (next to the smiley face button) and choose the white font. Now your text will appear to be invisible - if you want people to know there is a spoiler coming so that they don't think you've gone all mental and just forgotten to type anything, you can use * or some other symbol to be placed at the beginning and end of the hidden text.

If you are starting a thread that you know is going to contain spoilers or is likely to feature them during the natural course of the conversation, please make that clear in the title. Simple put "SPOILERS" at the beginning or end of your chosen title and then, to be fair, the onus is on the reader to not look if they don't want things spoiled for them.

Even if for whatever reason someone forgets to white out their text, they can still put "OI! SPOILERS!" at the beginning of their post or in their thread title. As a reader, you kind of have to weigh up the possibility of whether a thread is going to contain information you don't want to know yet and then react accordingly.

There are also some things that, to many, are considered fairly common knowledge by now and as such are not treated like spoilers. The only time I get ticked off is when people report someone for posting a spoiler - yes, it's annoying to read something you didn't want to know and didn't realise would be a spoiler at first but at the end of the day, sharing information about the game is not against the rules and the staff aren't going to be banning anyone for posting a spoiler or two. That's just mental ;)
