I think that this is the future of not only gaming, but almost all modern entertainment in general. It's only matter of time before someone creates an app for it similar to the Valve "Source Filmmaker" or perhaps even the Filmmaker app provided by Valve itself.
As for live action movies, we have youtube series that keep that part of the industry alive...so far. But something like Android may be able to replace it one day. Who knows?
Big Business Corporatism (Keynesian economics, Communism disguised as False Capitalism, monopolies, etc.) models are screwing over employees and customers.
Kickstarter, and it's other crowdfunding ilk, while not perfect, is a huge improvement not only over these models, but, dare I say it, our very way of economic life.
This is a "small business" model (True Capitalism/Free Market) but on a larger scale. It's fairness, sink or swim, basically.
And if it isn't Android that does this, it will be someone else who delivers what the customer and the employees want. Count on it.
