One absolute reason why this is not a true DMC game

Dante is MADE into a demon(Full fledge), not born as a half breed. Capcom is finally putting the cap on devil may cry and saying we are done with it, as well as some of their other high rated games. they are giving everybody a reason to NOT want a new devil may cry game.

Capcom has had ample opportunities to go off into different story line, I.E. Nero. We need to ask ourselves why didn't capcom learn their lessons the first time when DMC2 was screwed up by another company.

I am sad for the loss of the actual game series

...No he isn't thats why it's called Dante's Awakening because he was born a half breed. Even before he became a demon in DMC3 he had a supernatural body and abilities. He even states in 1 "even as a child I had powers, there is demonic blood in me"

There is no proof at this point that they have contradicted the canon regarding the story of his demon powers....(or is there? I haven't been keeping up with it assuming we won't hear/see anything until E3.)

Wait and see if the game has DT. If it does, then it's a whole new thing. If it doesn't have DT, then it can be set before DMC3.

technically they did because leo tan said he was born with black hair but he isn't apart of the development team so he cant be trusted.

^This, but I don't think it is completely new game it still does posses some features like the past games like name of the main hero and gameplay (it has not changed for the good). I personally think that DMC 4 was a bit commercialized and thus we need a rest from the past series.
This will be more serious game with stronger and more mature plot, at least I think it would.

I think he does have a DT but its more of a aura like what trish had in 2 or somewhat like Nero had in 4.
I'm assuming he will get a demon form at some point later in the game.

Oh, no no, I didn't mean that this is a completely new game, but that the developers has indeed taken it a different direction this time. As you say, a more mature and stronger direction. ^^

*Sigh* Right, here we go.

Dante is the son of a demon and a human, ergo, he was a half breed from birth, Sparda + Eva = Demon and human blood. You take on the genetic traits of your parents, taking on some traits from the father and the mother, so Dante would have always been half demon, half human.

He wasn't made into a demon, his powers were just awoken by Vergil. Big difference.

Dante is a seed of a demon and a human thus Dante is half demon half human. Dante is not a full fleged demon, neither is Vergil or Nero. And i'm pretty sure DmC is a reboot, meaning new story, new everything.

Capcom confirmed at E3 (in their interview) that this game is a reboot.
It will be up to the individual fan as to whether they accept this or not as part of the Devil May Cry collection/series.

Hardly any questions have been answered and only two trailers have been released. (The second with hardly any info either.) I don't know about anyone else, but i feel like a fish on a hook waiting to be reeled in.
Dante will DEFINITELY NOT be a full demon (unless its an alternate universe, in there, they can change anything).

From the way I see it, they maybe trying to make a game to incorperate the first novel, as the report of the new trailer on Capcom Unity referred to him as Tony Regrave. Although it is just something that I've thought of.

But how do you explain the transforming sword??? The world may never know lol. Reboot means to start again so I'm placing my money on this being out side the DMC story line.

it could just be a power rebellion always had but dante didn't really use it before because he was too lazy to figure it out .
@vergil'sbitch
im in the same boat myself.

I think his DT in the game will be just heightened powers, transforming in the white-haired Dante. He will be stronger, faster but I don't think he will transform into a demon in this game though.

Although, I can't wait to find out what's going to happen. :D

I think that those hoping for an explanation of Dante's look and abilities, which ties into the other games, will be disappointed. It was never of primary concern to get the games to make sense. But this game is further removed than before and is a "re-imagining".
