Nova's story episode three

[Darcy Willows]

Standing there was my childhood sweetheart Storm fallentear, he had that 'where were you' look on his face, i knew that 2 years without phone calls or anything was the thing playing on his mind, my fault, i suppose you can't keep all your promises. HE turned and went back into Ashe's house, so i followed him and found myself immersed in a logistics room. Maps covered the wall, Kadaj was busy marking out places on the main large map.

'What the........'
'as i said sunbeam is missing'

Ashe had just appeared at my shoulder, scowling at the mess.

'C'mon people keep it tidy'
'Where's Mina'

Ashe's gaze fell on the door on her right, i knew something was wrong, Mina wasn't at my side nagging at me for being late. Storm led me through to the other room and then thats when i saw, Mina was lying on the bed, barely alive, Lillith looked up from her side, tears had streamed down her face and there were bag's under her eye's.

'how long, she been like this'
'2 weeks, she's been unconcious the whole time, barely breathing, not eating, nothing'
'How'

Storm chose then to finally speak to me.

'Demonites, they brought dark angels with them, they shot with some sort of arrow , tipped in poison'

I knew that there was only one person to help her.

There is one more person to tell of, his name is Corin Copperworth and he is my cousin. He is half angel, when he discovered that there was people after him, he left, leaving a broken hearted Mina behind, he feared for her safety, but now she is in danger, so i knew time to for a family reunion.

I turned towards the door, ready to set out on my own.

'Im going out'
'Im coming with you'
'Storm.........'
'No not this time, remember, we fight together, forever, forever friends'

So i went to find Corin. I jumped on my bike as Storm revveed up beside me, i remember why i liked him now, must be the blue eye's. We rode along a dirt road, each pebble jolting me back to reality, we passed rolling hills and beautiful meadows, i remmebered something else

'this is great'
'i know'
'Storm, this is the best, how did you know to bring me here'
'Nova, i just did'
'Storm'
'i like you alot Nova, the last dance of school will you go with me'
' who else would i go with'
...my first kiss.........

We pulled up outside of an old abandoned mansion, on the outskirts of Kyona, an old favourite of Corin's that only i knew about because well i followed him, okay!

Cobwebs covered the walls, the floorboards creaked with every step storm and i took, bats roosted above us, i could feel storm recoil beside me, he had always hated bats.

'CORIN'
'Nova have you gone mad, corin went missing ages ago'
'thats what you think'
'Nova, i know he's your cousin but........'
'look storm, he's here, i know he is, he is the only one who can help Mina live, wothout him she is dead'

I could see the fear in his eyes, they darted to and fro looking desperatley for a way out of the building as each piece of rotting timber began to buckle and fall around him, he grabbed my hand, yanking me around to face the doorway. I stumbled, i held onto him for dear life, he began to run, taking me with him, he ducked and weaved as great chunks of plaster began to fall and smash against the floor,we burst through a doorway falling onto the floor of the old grand hall, i was still clinging to him, he was still clinging to me in a odd sort of embrace, i felt an emotion that i hadn't felt in a while, something was melting the ice around my heart, was it.....

Something jolted me back to my senses,(although i was pretty happy as i was), i remembered what i was here for. He got up and held out a hand to me, i took it gratefull for the help, he looked at me as i stood near him, i looked in his eye's. He had feared for me, for my life. I turned away from Storm, the emotion was stirring a painful memory within my heart, i couldn't take the grief again, not again. i turned to face a chair place haphazardly on the floor, A dark shadow stood in the doorway, behind me , i could feel it.

'I told you to stay away'
'Corin'
'Storm'

Men, as emotional as women, but they don't like to show it.

'Nova, i told you not to come, you know the risk you pose to yourself'
'Im not here for me'
'You have to leave'
'Corin'
'You know that tone never worked with me, now go!
'No, Corin, this time it's a no, remember Mina'
'Of course i do, she is the light side of my heart, she can not be here though they will kill her.
'They may not have a chance to, she's dying Corin, dying, they shot her with a poison arrow'
'I can't help her
'You can and you know it, you're gonna just leave her to die, then your heart will truly give into everlasting pain and darkness, do you want that, to spend you're life lurking in the shadows, all for the fact that it may come to harm to you, well it's not time to run anymore Corin, it's time to stand and fight for you're girl'

He went silent, he turned a went back through the doorway, Storm stirred beside me, he wanted to say something.

'Corin, i always looked up to you, you were brave always there for everyone, but look at you now, your heart is lost and the girl you promised you're heart to probably won't live beyond tommorrow and you're prepared to stand there there and let it happen, you're a coward Corin and no friend of mine.'

For the first time in my life i was stunned, Storm had spoke up, he had finally said what he was thinking. We turned i left through the other doorway and emerged to look out on a beautiful scene, the sun was slowly setting over the hills, it looked amazing and i felt at ease.

'Nice speech'
'I try, Nova, i try my best
'Homeward'
'Sounds good'

We drove home, silent as the sun, I had things to say...I just didn't know how to say them, damn emotions, stupid girly emotions, why can't you just stay away and bother someone else.
