You are not in control
Hey guys, I'm bored right now so I've decided to write a review of Combichrist's "No Redemption." I really like this album and this game, so its only fitting that I post my review here.
Let's start with Disc One. The thing that surprises me is that all throughout this disc, there's a consistent sound. But every damn track sounds different enough to not get boring. Not to mention that every track has one special party piece to differentiate it from the other songs. Take for example, the vocoded shouts of "Bur bur bur buried alive!" in "Buried Alive," or the crunching guitars combined with Andy's growls in "Pull The Pin." Don't expect crazy guitar solos and skilled drumming, instead, expect the album to twist and turn like crazy. You never know what you're going to get next. "Zombie Fistfight" reminds me of a roaring 80's Motley Crue, "Empty" sounds like it was ripped directly from a Rammstein album, and "Gotta Go" combines the iconic Combichrist chant with a catchy guitar melody. Even when the album starts reusing riffs, it does so with tenacity. This CD just blazes through your ear drums from start to finish. And the electronic elements blend with the traditional instruments perfectly.
Now onto Disc Two. If Combichrist were to put out a "Best of" record, this would be it. Like CD One, it brings so much ferocity, this time with a more electronic twist. Regardless, each song is catchy as hell, and brings something new to the table. I'm pretty sure you've all heard "Never Surrender" and "Sent To Destroy," but other tracks like "Get Your Body Beat" and "Follow the Trail of Blood" are guaranteed to pump you up for some demon slaying action.
In short, I couldn't have made a better album for DmC. NT and Combichrist should pat themselves on the back.
