@DT: I didn't notice Nero's hand... Vergil's scowl kind of distracts me from it
@VB: I know where you're coming from with Vergil being better left dead. As I've said before (somewhere...in some thread...) I personally prefer dead characters to stay dead. As in, dead, over, gone into oblivion forever and ever AMEN! Their deaths signify they have played their role and served their purpose. Bringing any dead character back to life kills EVERYTHING you might have once admired about that character.
I don't agree with the whole Vergil being Nero's father thing either, which I'm guessing the author is leaning toward as he's dropped that hint in the last chapter. But Vergil possessing Nero and using him as a puppet, could work. I mean... like Nero stands a chance against Vergil's evil influence? No ways!
@Devi: It is a pretty cool piece of work, and I agree with you, it'd win an Oscar. It's got all the good stuff in it, and even though I'm anti-Nero, I'm actually liking the way this particular author portrays him. Most writers paint him as being too arrogant (which he's not), too romantic (bleh
), too childish (that's Dante's forte, not Nero's), or they give their version of Nero some steroids and buff him up to be this witty kid who can outplay Dante
So, that's my excuse for doting on this fic and advertising it here.
Plus, it's original. Haven't we been having discussions of how Vergil (or some part of him) was contained in Yamato, and how we were all fooled to think it was Vergil shadowing Nero when he went into DT? And then this dude comes along and throws out a fic of Vergil possessing Nero - the only thing I hate about the whole thing is that the idea to write a fic like it hadn't occurred to me first.
Anyway, it's fanfiction, which means it's a fan's take on the characters and how they want things to play out, so no one should get too wound up about it.
