My analysis on DmC club gameplay

DragonMaster2010

Don't Let the Fall of America be Your Fall

So then, I'll be giving an analysis on DmC club gameplay.

From what I've seen of it, there's a lot more lighting and the characters seem more detailed now. Within the club I could see a lot of people in stripped black shirts so...yeah. Going on we see this fine honey on a balcony and an Angel stripper trying to Dance with Dante. (Or get in his pants...again) Dante pushes her out of the way like some cheap prostitute and she responds with "F*ck you, Dante!" Bad move. One of the demons found him and we finally see Lilith's face. (And a bit of an U.S. shot:blush:) She really doesn't look THAT bad. Like a MILF or a hotter Joan Rivers...never thought I'd say that in my life. Anyway we get to dance as Dante fights demons once again. I think she says "My how deeper you are...too bad you have to die." After all that she says stuff about Why Dante came there and he replies with Get the f*ck down here. So we continue on with the fighting. The tank is actually the same demon from the 2011 E3 trailer. So now it's off to Skrillix land as dubstep and techno Tron-like worlds start forming.

Here are some moves I've noticed;
-He seems to still be able to do that falcon punch to the ground, which begs the question of him having gauntlets again.

-Some of the things Berto explained from his gameplay of Dante are quite true with the camera angling.

-Dante can wall jump as well

that's all. I've seen a few other things buy Y'know. Lazy lazy...

I liked the arena, but the gameplay itself looked very repetitive. Combat really doesn't look as diverse as we know it from earlier DMCs, but I blame that on the player. If I had my own hands on it, it would probably look better. Dialogues are short and violent, just the way I like it and the thing with the changing tile-color forces you to actually observe your surroundings while fighting.
The setting looks way better than in old DMCs: The club really looks like a club and the limbo version of it looks demonic in just the right way: a psychedellic hellhole of lights and moving shapes.
Lilith didn't strike me as a very interesting opponent so far, but I bet her demonic true self will even that out.

I think the problem is that Capcom/NT didn't want to show off new weapons and moves and that's why it seems so repetitive. He said that this stage was half-way through the game and I doubt you'll still be using those 3 weapons. At least it's better than what Nero was capable of.

If you look closely, he has to go into demon mode to use that move. Seeing as to how Dante NEEDS to pull off that move, it's most likely similar to the angel dash with the exception that Dante has to be in demon mode instead of angel mode.

Wall jump? Yeah, he wall jumps, why wouldn't he? I did it a few times I didn't think it was something that people were on the look out for, though.

The club demo shows that Dante probably visited the place many times, collecting intelligence or somewhat.
But this time, he is ****ed off by kat's missing.

I think the wall jumps he mentioned are then one near the end where Dante glides towards a blue panels and jumps to another. Its right before fight with the full grown Rages.

i noticed that the fighting style was repetitive. but i blame that on the player, not in a bad way. but you need to think about it, we are told that the club level is from about half way through the game. so he obviously has more weapons and skills than we see. but they dont want to release that info yet so they dont let the player use it. also he has to be in sync with the man giving the voice over. perform moves when he is asked and not breeze through a level on human mode hes played probably dozens of times.

as for that Dancer girl. im certain (ish) that shes trish. i know its a long shot but just hear me out. from Liliths reaction Mundus has seemed to have placed a bounty on Dante's head. so the entire demon world wants him so they can earn Mundus's favor (he is like their god). So i think Trish is playing it smart, she knows how strong he is so she's trying to get Dante alone and in a position where she can kill him easily. when he doesn't bite she deliberately shouts out his name to grab the attention of Lilith.

now for my analysis of the level:

level starts on a good note, and the graphics themselves seem sound. albeit, the level is a lot less tripy than the trailer would have suggested but thats a good thing. Dantes movements look liquid and smooth. the level does look a little repetitive but it does add new elements on every stage. no two are similar enough to create a sense of annoyance. personally i saw it as a bit of a call back to more classic games where it was Stage by stage. it was obviously taking things from old games (ready fight) but they played it upbeat enough i thought it wasnt bad. tho the thing with pushing the play button DID tick me off a lil but i think that was deliberate as a commentary of the real world. So i can live with it.

move wise, not a lot was new. though what they did show was pretty good. we know they have the Divine statues so there is DEFINITELY an upgrade system. they said how you could purchase upgrades to suit your own style. eg make angel stronger etc which i think adds a level of personal customization to the game. we also got a better look at parrying, where we see that its all in timing of your weapon and works on any opponent. i especially liked it when he seemingly reflected an ice wave on the user. classy :D .

the demons were pretty cool. i liked how they added some depth to them buy giving them a sort of life span. baby rages are like little dogs while the grown up one are like some ungodly killer boar/wolf hybrid. so you need tact and not button mashing. also i thought the flying demons (harpies) were a nice touch. tho im worried as it seems as tho they may be recycling the shield demon and just giving them different colours. but we dont know. they might just be giving different kinds of demons shields instead :P

Lilith was the perfect antagonist in the level. loud and annoying, constantly commenting and criticizing. motivating the player to actually WANT to reach her and then beat her. i also like how the entire level was her "playing" with Dante. So the battle will only escalate as it goes on. now i know some people may think it is morally questionable to want to kill a demon if their "pregnant" (we dont know maybe shes just crazy) so it adds a little ethics in their for the hell of it. a nice bit of brain food for when your chopping up demons.

It's already been said that Dante and her had some... ahem... "exchanges" prior to the game.

Lilith has a very creepy resemblance to Trish somehow.

*hint**hint*

yh we know they know each other but i think the "relationship" (i use the term very loosely) between the two may have beem trish's way of getting close/ keeping tabs on him for when mundus put the bounty on his head

i dont think so at all actually. as far as i can tell the only similarity is blonde hair and skad clothing. besides whats the point in rebooting a well known character if your just gonna completely change their name. (btw lilith is a name wraped in anceint legends from the torah etc)

And what is that"scrawny little broken flower" Lilith mentions that made Dante mad?
There are a lot of questions in that small demo
