Moving to Maui

Yeah..I know that a lot of you who read this is going to give me ****. I never been to Hawaii and I have always wanted to go. But to actually move there and by myself non the less..this is going to be a major drastic life changing experiences for just one person. And to one of the most expensive places in the United States, if not the most. I've only known the feeling of being dependent on others never knowing the true feeling of being alone. I don't want to waste my life away depending on someone, it makes me feel useless, hopeless and incapable of doing things for myself. That can be a good thing and a bad thing, and I never learned how to grow up. I'm 27 years old and I don't want to sit back on my ass and wish for my life to get better..I want to make it happen. I want don't want to be all talk and have nothing to show for it. This is just something that I must do..*sigh* I can't be scared because I'm alone..yes I will fail but that's the only way that people will learn anything..or maybe that's just for me. But I can't turn back now..not again..I've already done that once already. I canceled my flight cause I was terrified, I can't do it again. I can't throw it away, I think I know what it means to fight for something that you want that you refuse to let go. Cause it'll always be in the back of my mind...what if..
I kneed to know what lays beyond the endless boundaries of my mind to go beyond my limit. I can't give up I refuse to let my fears get the best of me.

Not anymore....

So I ask of you, anyone. I welcome your advice anything helpful at all.

Thank you~

I can't find a good site to check out what sort of properties/rental homes they have for what price range, sowwy :(
Just make sure you're as prepped for this as you can possibly be. Learn about their culture, their people, the cuisine, the weather, the wildlife, the law, their road code, where to go and places to avoid, what to do and not to do, and start scouting for a job before you get on the plane so you have at least a couple of interviews lined up when you get there.
Also, book yourself in at a cheap motel in the region you're aiming to relocate to.
Good luck!! ^^,

Oh wow!! Thank you so much for your help! I have been applying for jobs such as hotels and resorts I even read up on some of their culture. They have every right to dislike white people I am a mix but I know that I look mostly white. My mother is Mexican and Puerto Rican and my father is French, Dutch, German, Irish and some others that I don't know. But I'll still be called a haole. And I read that there's a day called ("Beat a haole day") I take more after my father's side of the family. Gah!! Why do the white people have to **** everything up..? They sure have given themselves a bad reputation like EVERYWHERE in the world! And made ourselves suffer for it. That's what we get..we just take take take and never give back. Cause money is all we care about and the power to just do the hell we want and destroy. Karma is a ****ing bitch and oh man whites are going to get it SO BAD!! I know all white people aren't all the same same as for other ethnicities. But a lot of different countries still hold a strong grudge against the Americans. And like I said they have every right..

I'm going to study more about the culture and all that important stuff. Again that you so much for all of your advice and your help. Giant flying BITING COCKROACHES and HOPPING/JUMPING CANE SPIDERS and GIANT CENTIPEDES that crawl in your bed with you and they bite!!!!

Have you ever been to Hawaii if so what Island?

A white friend of mine lives in Hawaii (has for decades) and her advice would be to just respect the locals/local culture, try to fit in and have fun, don't act like you're better than anyone because you're from outside, and you'll get along fine (goes for anywhere, I guess).

I've moved all over my country and settled in different cities (doesn't take long at all) and I WISH I could move abroad but I just don't have the finances to do it. So if you can, and have the chance, I say go for it. We don't regret the things we did do so much as the things we didn't do.

Hey thanks for your friend's advice and the time to read my thread. I appreciate it. And I agree that we regret more on the things that we didn't do. And just miss out on life.
