Mario vs Sonic?

Who do you think is better overall. I like sonic more as he is faster and more action packed which do you choose?

Mario's a plumber who has enemys which needs to be jumped on to be killed.
Sonic is a super-fast hedgehog that has to fight enemys that also need to be jumped on , but can also shoot at Sonic plus Sonic's levels are faster.

I go with Sonic.
