Limbo, Inferno, Purgatorio (Purgatory) & Paradiso

I think that would involve getting Hideki Kamiya's permission, or getting him on-board with developing a DmC2.

I'll be frank; I don't see it happening. Bayonetta isn't affiliated with either Capcom or NT, and from what I've heard, Kamiya doesn't have much of an opinion of the DmC side of the franchise.

(Correct me if I'm wrong, of course).

Kamiya doesn't hold the rights for exclusivity on the concepts of purgatory, heaven, nor hell, his permission is not required. Any developer can use them as they please. i'd be like asking Miyamoto to make your character Italian, no reason to do so.

As for his stance on DmC last I heard he gave the the 'good luck to ya' tweet.

@TWOxACROSS

Did "Passage to Heaven" give you inspiration for the title?

[For those you who aren't 'in the know' this is the official title of this particular Gregorian chant.]

...Well then, I stand corrected. >.< I figured based on the way the names are in Bayonetta (Particularly Paridiso) that it might lead to problems if they were used in a DmC sequel...but you're right, it's not like he has a monopoly on it.

It's okay. It happens to everybody.

I'm actually slightly concerned that Kamiya can't do anything that isn't inspired some way by the Divine Comedy. For a dude who doesn't like to make sequels, he is sure hung up on one specific world.

Heh. Strange, that; I thought originally he was disappointed when Capcom didn't call him back to work on DMC2? O.o I guess he changed his mind after that?

Edit: Lol! Dammit, Frostmourne! XD

Eh, not really the Pope. It was a fairly large book for personal and spiritual growth. He wrote it while in exile for being involved in a political party at odds with the one in power. He wrote it to help him figure things out in his life, and in Inferno's case, stick it to some of the people who he didn't like or those who wronged him in the past; particularly, the leader of the Black Guelphs who had him kicked out of Florence(? I think it was), for his aforementioned involvement with the White Guelphs.

What better way to make yourself feel better than to write about all your enemies burning in Hell :p

Ah yes. I knew he was writing it to also say eff you to some people. Correct me if I'm wrong but the pope at the time was one.

It's kinda like, Michael Jackson making an album that called the people he thought were a piece of sh!t by name and it going triple platinum.

If I remember correctly, the White Guelphs supported the Pope, while the Black Guelphs supported the Roman Empire, and were a bunch of d!cks trying to change the federal policies of Italy.

Remember, Dante was a very religious dude. He wouldn't be stickin' it to the guy who is essentially God's mouthpiece :p

Wait, scratch that. I had things mixed up a bit. Dante was part of the White Guelphs, but the Pope Boniface VIII was part of the Black Guelphs, and Boniface was responsible for ousting the Whites from office and exiling Dante.

My bad >.<
