I think you guys get the picture.
MGR is getting a lot of support from DmC haters, do you think the mastermind Kojima (he really is, his games are amazing) may have had a hand in this?
Edit: MGR was re-announced in 2011, and was produced by Platinum Games, who had made the acclaimed Bayonetta. Peculiar, no?
EDIT: I think I got some explaining to do, but first, a little about myself. I am currently an undergraduate in college hoping to one day get a degree in Computer and Electrical Engineering, but, I have to take two social studies/social sciences/language arts electives for school in order to get my undergraduates degree. I picked Journalism and Psychology. My journalism project was to see how people react to media bias, by means on the internet, newspapers, etc. I got really lazy and did not want to go around asking people about this, so I decided to go on the internet and post some outrageously over-sensationalized material on several forums, but it had to sound somewhat realistic so people could think it might be true.
I think I can safely say that I did not anticipate two full pages of comments over the two days this was posted of people responding to me.
In turn, I would like to apologize for any disturbance, distress, or anguish I may have caused to anyone and everyone on this forum, and also thank you guys for giving me so much data for my assignment.
I would also like to nominate this for one of MrRandomLolz famous "Hall of Shame" threads

Do you think Kojima saw all of the negative feedback from DmC and brought on Platinum Games to make MGR?
One year is more than enough time to copy and paste from Platinum Games' previous works to make a draft build for a game.

DmC was announced in late 2010.

And I also believe that Platinum games took over MGR and gave it the name of Revangance after 2010. So there is that...

But either way, MGR looks nothing like Bayonetta to me at all, instead it looks a lot like Ninja Gaiden. Which is a game I would play for difficulty rather than deep gameplay mechanics and whatnot.

I made a few mistakes with the thread, I recommend you go back and read the changes. My bad

Kojima's a mastermind alright, but he doesn't really give two ****s about another game series. In fact, he probably doesn't like that people are ****ting on an unreleased game and praising one of his simply because they think it fills a DMC-shaped void.

Kojima is the kinda guy that can respect many types of games and see the merits in them :P

Also - MGR isn't a DMC or Bayonetta successor at all. It's Metal Gear's Cyborg Ninja VR Missions on Platinum Games crack.

Kojima has nothing to do with the haters.
Ugh, I'm so tired of conspiracy theories... Most of the time they make no sense.

F*** No. MGR was a development nightmare, I'm surprise they able to finish it. And Konami and P* have a fanbase problem similar to Capcom and NT. If you compare comments from the Metal Gear fanboys and classic DMC fanboys, it really is similar.

Why not? He's a businessman and would, like any other, would pounce on any opportunity to make butt loads of cash.
Besides, don't you think that it's quite odd for him to bring on Platinum games, who just made the critically acclaimed game Bayonetta, to make a hack'n slash game, for it's re-announcement in 2011?

Not after Ground Zeroes was announced, now it's a small group of haters, just like any other game would have, which is nothing like DmC's problem

Yea, after ground zeroes was announced because it looks way better than MGR, well i'm not gonna say better, i'm gonna say, more Metal gear-ish and it looks amazing as well

But you think it is more reasonable that Kojima is this cult leader who makes all his followers hate DmC and praise MGR?
That's just laughable. XD

Kojima has consistently shown his love to the Metal Gear brand, and not the money behind it. It's successful, but he's said he would make Metal Gear games till the day he dies, because it holds a very special place in his heart.

And from the Revengeance dev diary they released to explain the developmental shift, Kojima decided Metal Gear Rising would be able to achieve their goal of being an action-packed cyborg ninja hack 'n' slash if they brought on those known as one of the top hack 'n' slash developers. Bringing on Platinum was a smart move to make the game they had intended to make in the first place.

This "conspiracy" is really, really silly.

When the games were announced is irrelevant, because they sit in development and conceptual stages for years before the public announcement.

Their release dates are practical releases that are done by many other games, and there's really no correlation between them. A lot of games are usually ready before the new year, but don't feel like trying to compete with Call of Duty business in November, and other holiday rushes.

People's comments about MGR being better than DmC come from people assuming what MGR will play like. We hear a lot less of these comments now that people have played MGR's demo, and people see that MGR plays nothing like a DMC or Bayonetta game.

MGR's reannouncement was addressed above :p

I say again, Kojima is a mastermind of gaming, but not of business. He makes his own games, and he lets others make theirs. There's no conspiracy here :/

Thanks for coming. Don't forget to tip your waitress, and pick up your tinfoil hat from the check room before you leave.

I hardly see any conspiracy. P* was picked because they are older and more experienced so, unlike the young cats that were doing all the cool effects for MGS:R but had no sense of direction P* does. While NT was hired for their writing skills P* was hired for their action game developing skills.

Similarities? Yeah, a hell of alot of 'em.
Conspiracy? Seriously?
