Is Sparda still the "Legendary Dark Knight"?

I was wondering this cause the demon's who say Sparda's name don't seem to say, "The Dark Knight Sparda" or "The son of the Dark Knight, Sparda" They just say "Son of Sparda." Also apparently their's been talk that Sparda lost against Mundus in this game and now Sparda's son must do it, much like DBZ where Bardock is killed against Frieza and Goku has to kill Frieza instead. So I wonder, is Sparda still the Dark Knight" or what? Also if dante kills Mundus in this game, will he get a special title instead?

He got the title in the old series by killing Mudus and his army by himself and sealing the portal to hell, sacrificing his own power. The humans worshiped him as a legend even though he was a demon, thus the name, "The Dark Knight."
 
Just throwing this out there as a wild guess but no, Sparda is not "The Legendary Dark Knight" in this game. He got that title for saving humanity in the last games. Humanity in this game is under demon control, so Sparda never saved anything. According to what Mundus says about Sparda though, it seems he did indeed go against him. He was probably the one who created The Order as well. But to the general population, they have no idea who Sparda is... or maybe they do but their view of him is most likely as that of a terrorist.
 
idk about the title but since it stemmed from him beating Mundus and saving humanity i guess that is NOT the case here. Here humanity is enslaved(<----NT pun) which shows that Sparda failed to defeat Mundus or something else. But then again this is a "rebirth" or "retelling" of DMC so he might not have even challenged Mundus at all.
 
I'm pretty sure sparda was never called that by other demons so to them he is just a traitor.
 
I'm quite certain that Sparda still holds a celebrity status in the Demon World, hence why every one of them knows of Him and His kin.
 
Likely because Eva, to them, is what caused a great Demon to fall from Hellish grace. I imagine it would something like your best friend suddenly becoming an asshole because of his new girlfriend. Your hatred wouldn't be entirely directed towards your best friend, more the new girlfriend who is essentially stealing your friend away from You.

And Eva being of the Angel kind, well, that just adds insult to injury. They likely see Humans as a waste of time and space, and probably disposable pleasures at most. Demons, I'm sure, can't stomach Angels whatsoever, hence their very crude outlook on Eva.

i think he is still called that....not cuz he saved humanity but cuz he had won many battles and cuz hes very powerfull... and as for eva's hate be demons i agree with zilla i think thats it....:)
