Enigma
Crimson Sentinel
Hey. I just realized there's not much for me to talk about anymore. I often go and seek out certain threads because they fit a certain theme - one or two types of things I want to talk about. And I realized, just keeping on talking about one thing in different iterations has no point. Saying something once is enough... nobody needs to hear it over 9000 times. I've gotten the sense that the forum has also been a place for me to try to act like an arbiter or to talk about philosophical positions more suited to real life things. It's not been about gaming per se, and it's not been about Devil May Cry per se, either. I feel like I need to find people to talk to, or explore new avenues, create new opinions... if that makes any sense.
Also, I've been sick of gaming for a little while. There are no games coming out in the next year or so that I find particularly interesting, except for The Evil Within and Civilization: Beyond Earth. MGSV looks overly sentimental, Quantum Break seems built around a gimmick of 'warping time', Watch Dogs around hacking stuff, and so on. There is no reason for me to talk about games I don't find interesting either... what would I say? That I don't like them and don't want anything to do with them?
I really feel like xMobilemux has a point when he says that games are getting dumbed down and the focus doesn't lie on gameplay enough. Even with the large focus on stories, they are usually not interesting because of annoying or boring characters. Soundtracks also often suck. The last game I played that I absolutely adored was The Elder Scrolls IV (2006). The last DMC I thought was excellent was DMC3. DMC4 was fun too, though not as life-changing. Since then, sure, there have been fun games, but not much of anything that made my life feel more complete like TES IV, Jade Empire, MGS3 and LOTR: The Third Age did.
And so, I've lost my purpose here. I hope you have fun, and try not to be too aggressive or passive-aggressive. It just makes you age faster. Sorry for any unjustified hatred from my part. Thanks for a great time, everyone. Maybe I'll come back much later when my perspective has changed or the times have.
