Hi gang,
Our licenses expired a few months ago, meaning that we're no longer eligible for XenForo (the forum software we use) and style (the template we use is called Omni and was leased from PixelExit.com) updates. We can still use the software just fine - we just aren't able to keep up with the latest releases which may or may not include new features and security fixes.
We did something similar a
There appears to have been no major XenForo releases (we are on v2.1.x and the currently available version is v2.1.10) since our licenses expired, so there are unfortunately no fancy new features that would be introduced with any immediate updates. However, it would not be unrealistic to expect v2.2 to release within the next 12 months and include new features. Regardless, the request for funds is necessitated so that we can keep up to date security and stability-wise.
The license renewal with Pixel Exit would mean that we are also able to keep on top of new style updates (which may or may not include bug fixes and include support for future XenForo features).
Here is a breakdown of the costs involved:
If anyone would be willing to help contribute towards the costs, that would be real swell. The donation add-on we use on the forum is a little buggy (has been for as long as we've used it, to be honest), so the best way to forward any funds would be via thePayPal.me widget that I haven't yet worked out how to embed into this post. I will update this thread as and when and if donations arrive.
Any and all help would be awesome, if you have anything to spare. As a thank you, anyone whom donates $5 or more will receive a new badge to display on your profile/post info. The badge istemporarily visible on my profile/post info (underneath the 'Admin' and 'Staff' badges) for preview purposes. visible on @ef9dante_oSsshea and @LordOfDarkness profiles/post infos. Thanks, guys!
Thanks for your time. Feel free to ask any questions.
