So every devil may cry game has an awesome, crazy, cinematic, action-packed opening, which got me to thinking "i wonder if DmC will have an awesome, crazy, cinematic, action-packed opening?" so now that i have put the thought in everyone's head i would like to hear what you guys want to see in the opening, or if you have a scenario planned out that you would you like to discuss well go ahead and discuss! :)
*if you do not have anything to contribute such as ideas or scenarios, then do not post in this thread*

Thank God for this thread xD I haven't been able to follow the threads for the past two days because of the constant flow of ideas and conversations that weren't even connected.
Ahem...an introduction eh? I'm imagining something like a scene that throws you straight into the climax (when Dante gets caught) but he's fighting off the demons the best he can (with rain coming down for an extra effect ;D) and the game just throws you in that scene for a tutorial.
And Dante is superpowered with most of his abilities so you could experiment just a bit.
But just as the tutorial ends, a sort of boss can come in and you fight it for a while (preferably with all of its power in tact, because they usually give you a weaker version of the boss) until you 'die' and you hear Dante's voice narrating.
And then the game goes back to the beginning where Dante runs away from that same boss and fights demons in Limbo City (this time it could be sunny). And then the game starts.

haha you're welcome for the thread, nice idea btw :)

I think maybe dante entering in a cage fight between him and another demon and starts kicking the crap out of him. This is when he is in prison and the first couple of levels are him breaking out of jail.

Thanks :p It's kind of a mix of what I remember from Prototype and DMC 4 mashed together xD What would be your idea?
hmmmm...that's a good question what is my idea? lol i haven't even thought of one personally i just thought about the concept. i guess i need to make up my own scenario don't i? :)

okay here's my scenario:
dante is walking the streets of the city wearing his hood so he can go unnoticed. as he's walking you notice random civilians begin following dante, eventually dante catches on and turns around to confront the civilians following him. once he does this the civilians transform into demons and the world around dante becomes limbo. dante massacres all the demons as they come to attack him, then all of a sudden a powerful demon disguised as a human (i picture a guy who looks similar to arkham) comes and beats the hell out of dante, and that's when this powerful demon takes dante hostage where we see dante in the interrogation room from tgs 2010.
and i think that's it, sprinkle some awesome moves, amazing style and effects and you got my version of the DmC intro. :)

So we pretty much all imagine the game starting at the prison (climax...well at least under my theory).

yeah i picture this prison coming into play at the beginning of the game. now that you mentioned it, they haven't showed the prison/interrogation area since tgs 2010, i wonder if they are still using this in the story if so i would like to see the updated version of it.

Remember how he looked like he was 10 or something in the tgs 2010 trailer? Man am I glad they changed that. I mean I can take a character who isn't particularly good looking but the kid didn't even look human (and I don't mean anything about ugliness...just that his proportions were weird). I liked his original adult look, though. It may have looked a little too lanky, but it looked pretty good actually.
So, yeah. That prison scene could have been changed RADICALLY

exactly, so i would love to see an updated version of it :)

I think that the game will start of with Dante killing demons likes its a usual thing for him maybe slip a tutorial in there then a high ranking demon appears and tells Dante what he is meaning that he's half angel/demon. Dante doesn't care about what the demon says and goes to strike him down *insert stylish fight scene here* but can't so much as touch the demon and gets overpowered by the him. The demon decides to leave but before he does he tells Dante something from his past(Dantes past) that only Dante would know which gets him thinking that the demon might be telling the truth about the being half angel/demon thing, then he tells Dante to come to Limbo city if he wants to find out the truth.

I just want to fight legions of demons as Sparda. An opening scene like the one in heavenly sword except with Sparta in demon form. He has all of Dante's moves unlocked at his disposal. While you kick ass rack-to-back with your sexy bad ass angelic lover, an epic voice-over narrates the back-story in grand flaming fashion. A scene like that would, alone, establish this game as Devil may Cry.

I like this idea too :)

Umm... Why would the demon just leave him there alive?
