In the demo for Batman Arkham Asylum way back in 2009, I swear that you don't need to double-tap the "Run" button to dive or vault over enemies.
You dive by tilting the direction you want on the left stick and pressing "Run" at the same time, which is in a single motion, with no double-tapping.
I tried redownloading the demo after playing the full game and it seems that the demo was updated to include the double-tap command, so the single-tap vaulting version seems to be lost forever.
I can't be the only one who remembered this?
