How well do you know your DMC 3?

I need some help from you guys. I don't have DMC 3 so I can't actually go check it out in the cutscenes.
That one part in DMC 3 where Dante gets all weak from a stone (or orb, or wahtever it was, I'm not sure) that thing that sucked demon energy and made him weak, and Jester was prancing around him like an idiot going 'not even the son of Sparda can withstand it's power' blah blah.
WHAT was that thing that made him weak? A stone? Some kind of demon-power-sucker thing? I need the actual name for it, because I want to use it in my fanfic. If anyone could help please?

I can't remember what it was called but it gave Dante unlimited power in exchange for his soul (it drains his life)

I haven't played on DMC3 in a long time...hang on...
it is called Haywire Neo Generator. From what i remember, its purple and round.
I can't find any pictures on it.
