How much Dante & Vergil 'really' look like their classic counterparts.

Smile it confuses people
I posted these on tumblr a while ago, but I thought it might be interesting for you guys to see. Now remember when comparing, there's about a 10 or more year age gap between classic and rebirth characters, and these games were released at very different times. So just, bear that in mind.

So if anyone ever says these two don't look anything like the originals, just link these pictures to them :lol: okay?
 
I can kind of see it, but they don't look too much alike.

New Dante has a slime face and smaller nose then old Dante, and old Dante has a wider jaw.

But just put black shorter hair on old Dante and I could kind of see a resemblance. Guess they tried to make both look as much as the same as they could.

As for Vergil and Nelo; the only similarity I see with them is hair, but even so they do look quite the same a bit.
 
Yeah, I forgot where the picture was, but there was this image that said Dino and Tameem looked so much alike because of their hair.

And then there was this other picture that showed DMC2 Dante's face alongside Dino's face and they were exactly alike.
That was early concept art.
Anyway, really good find.

In my opinion, Vergil in DmC, Is much better looking than his old model from DMC1 (Nelo Angelo) and DMC3.
Looks awesome with the black coat and the new haircut which almost look like the one from DMC1 but 10 times better.

Dante he doesn't look like the older Dante that much, Maybe its the haircut, look at the one in my profile, Looks almost like the old Dante with that haircut.

I think I've seen a lot of those old Tameem/Dino pictures from when the debut trailer came out, oh boy...

And really? I didn't know DMC2 Dante's face resembled the Rebirth Dante, should try comparing them if we can't find that one.

And my tumblr's here. I've mostly been using it like a little DmC base recently, so if I find or make anything I reblog or post it. Although, there is the rare post of me randomly shouting PIEEEERS here and there. :lol:

you are comparing old Dante with this Dante , I think this Dante should be compared to DMC3 Dante cuz i believe this Dante is younger than DMC3's.
and you are comparing Nelo angelo to DmC's Vergil . the same thing, you should compare DMC3's Vergil cuz Nelo angelo is older than DMC3's Vergil

and i think DmC's Dante is nothing like old Dante "DMC4" , and the same thing for vergil except the hair if you want to compare him with Nelo angelo

I didn't compare DMC3 Dante and Vergil because their models look too different from how they usually look in the other titles (their faces). The reason I choose DmC 1 Nelo Angelo/Vergil because he did resemble DmC Vergil, along with his hairstyle, which is why I think Vergil looks like he does in the Rebirth. DMC4 Dante comparision was just a accident while I scrolling through tumblr.
 
DMC4's Dante has a blockier nose and jawline than any of the other models, but the eyes, mouth, and brow stayed the same, and DmC's Dante has got those down exactly. It's his hair that gives the illusion of great difference. I never thought a simple dye job and a bad cut could make a guy look so unlike himself, but any time anybody just slaps a decent wig on his DmC models in art manips, the change is surprising.

DmC's Vergil, they seem to have leaned more on DMC1 and his artbook designs than DMC3, but the face is pretty consistent across models. Pretty clear NT did their homework all around.
 
how about someone Photoshop Old Dante and dye his hair black, or paste new Dante's hair on old Dante and it would be better to see the resemblance. Vice-verse for the new Dante, change his hair white and/or make it longer. In my opinion, new Dante look exactly like old Dante, and I think NT did that on purpose, so when the future arc of the story happens, We have our old full white haired Dante with a swagged out red/black jacket.

I'm doing that right now actually, sticking new Dante's haircut on old Dante.

...it's scary, I'll let you know how it goes.
