How I think Dante's past might have been (Theory)

Dante was tortured hiss entire life and could do nothing about it. He was depressed and in pain, and the worst part was that he couldn't die and be free of his torture. He suffered in agony all those years and couldn't even do suicide because he's not human. Finally, he decides to do something about it and stand up to the demons that tortured him for so long. Thus leading to DmC.

This comic was more an example or theory of how his life was.
 
NT already said that he was placed in institutions and various adopted families that were ran by demons. It was those people that tortured him.
