That was quick. Didn't they only announce this like a week ago?
Yeah and it's goddamn BS. Whatever one might feel about the work the studio has done this is a foul way to operate. MS went trigger happy with the buying of game studios, did nothing with them, and now they're throwing them out. Whether it was their intention or not the result is still the same and people's livelihood got disrupted in a severe way.

It is a sh*t show for sure, and from the word going around ea and bioware and playstation and more have cuts and closures coming too.

So the autumn we could end up with a very gutted game industry

Oh, hell no.

The original RE2 still tops all. Deal? :(

What the hell, Capcom? Why did you change up all this stuff just to cater to the newer fans? As in, the younger lot that began playing RE around 7, and, or the remakes. :D

OK. So this guy has a point. Putting the old model of Leon in flashbacks might seem silly, as RE2 was released in 1998. However, some flashbacks Leon recalls do involve showing off side characters who were not actually in the original release during the 90s.

Ah. This is just too much.

Sony can burn in hell, and PS5 is my last Sony console.
The business of repairing video game systems just became a whole lot more lucrative, I tell you what.

At first I was hoping Sony was switching over to a new medium since they've been a disc based product from day 1 but I've worked at a gamestop before and people abuse those things. The longevity of disc based mediums is not eternal, especially with people who, by the looks of things, seem to want to destroy their games. Since the portable/hybrid console is doing so well I was hoping that they might be transferring to a solid state medium, a Sony cartridge, but they were very specific. They are moving to a digital only service.

I've seen Sony through a lot of garbage but I'm also not staying with them after this. I got 3 PS2s, a PSP, a Vita and a VTV, 2 PS3s, one PS4Pro and a PS5 Slim and more games that'll know what to do with. After the Okami sequel I'll be set.

That new Hellraiser game has me curious.

I have seen all the movies a long time ago. Sans the awful newer one that didn't star Douglas Bradley as Pinhead / Lead Cenobite.

Even he thought it was trash and insulting how they carried on the franchise without him, just to degrade it. But how many horror franchises have suffered the same fate?

I'm sure everyone's heard but even so:

I guess the move of not letting their games get ported to PC anymore makes sense now. They knew this digital only stuff would get a lot of backlash and potentially many people would move to PC since Steam is the vastly superior digital store and games are generally much cheaper due to key sites and frequent sales, so they had to go back to holding IPs hostage again to try and keep users.

It's unfortunate.

I always loved the feeling of actually holding what I bought, following a long way for it to hit the shelves. Now thanks to people downloading games, and companies turning to streaming services, this is the way the future is heading.

Accomplishment unlocked: your physical copy... forever!

As much as it sucks, people will still buy the PS6 anyway.

Gaming is like being addicted to a substance. Companies know that even if folk get mad, their favourite franchises will beckon them to proceed regardless. In the same way a junkie will chase after their next fix. It takes a strong will to truly cut ties with something.

I was already pretty sure I would never buy a PS6 anyway: rising costs + not having much money + way less time spent playing games + large number of games I still haven't played. If anything, this is freeing because now I am definitely not going to bother with a PS6. It's amazing how stupid this generation of consoles have been, but not because of the games. There have been some great ones and the PS5 as a piece of hardware is awesome. But Sony and Microsoft made so many dumb decisions. Sony out of pride and thinking they are invincible. Microsoft because it slipped on a banana peel, smacked its head on the ground, and suffered a severe concussion.

Good grief.
