Chances are, that I will not play this game on either on PS3 or PC. I still prefer to play Final Fantasy Versus XIII than Final Fantasy XIV.

I will not play this game. It could be getting perfects tens and I still wouldn't care. However, the scores it is getting don't surprise me.

Me neither since it's you know... a launch of an MMO. No MMO is that good at launch. :p

^ That actually had nothing to do with it. :p XD

Maybe not with your thought but with the review scores it had alot to do with it.

I've played the game, I enjoy it, I'm currently playing it. What's so bad about it? So far I can say that the annoyance of searching the bazaar and that's about it.
Some complain about it's UI being crappy, slow, but these things isn't something I think is bad.

Story = weak. Reason: It's an MMO who've just launched.

Sound and music = Excellent.

Graphics an effects = Great. They make it that every character somehows looks awesome either way you do it, or that's my opinion.

Gameplay: I like the story quests. Levequests are REALLY fun to do with buddies. Could get into repetetive grinding and fighting can get monotonous like any MMO, but in my opinion it doesn't get old as fast as WoW gets old.

So... Biggest complaints by many:
1. Too high requirements for the computer.

2. Bugs and glitches (expected from the MMO just launched)

3. Lacking world to explore later in the game (I can't say anything about that)

4. Slow and not that user friendly UI (I don't think it's as bad as people hype it, but it can get tedious for those who can't be calm and think through their settings)

5. Repetetive areas

6. Lack of dungeons

Now that's the bad things. I only see people whine in places like GameFAQs and other people defending the game without any arguments. Of course it launched about a week ago, MMO's aren't that great in the beginning.
It should've had at least some dungeons and other stuff like that, but maybe it's added later on.

I just give this, give them a few months to add some new stuff in the game and fix their interface. If you wouldn't like it you could just shut down your account for a few months until they add some things and it's getting a better reputation. Gameplay and the UI interface needs improvements but that's about it.

^ So in other words you could say it has potential, but needs time to get to get fleshed out? That's good. I still can't se myself playing it since I'm not an MMO person, but I like seeing games being better that what people expect. Even if I myself don't expect much. *cough* Final Fantasy XIII *cough*

EDIT: Here's a really detailed review from IGN

I understand you. I'm no MMO person either. But since I'm a fan of FF I just imagined a MMO filled with FF and I wanted it. Meeting people that also has played FF and much else.

You said it. It's incomplete in the area of gameplay. The rest is golden (my opinion). If Square takes some time to make some depth in the gameplay to give explorers something to explore and be more friendly with the whole fighting thingy so there aren't 80% crafters everywhere doing nothing but crafting.

Still, if you party with a friend and do some levequests you can have a great time playing it. Although people who either speaks your language or isn't too absorbed in what they are doing and not caring is really scarce...

Me, I hate MMO's. This one has actually caught my interest since I got this badass character with a certain feel to it. It doesn't make everything bland like WoW (my opinion). There is a huge difference between a Lancer and a Gladiator, it really gives you the feel that you are the class you are playing.

Edit: Nice find. I'll be reading through that slowly. =D
